I love the argument for how to play against Thresh

"Just deny him of his souls early."

I mean, I would if it was possible, but you simply can't deny him from his souls in lane. His souls automatically come to him when they're about to disappear, meaning he doesn't even have to walk over them to grab them. He just has to be relatively near his souls (by relatively near I mean that he has to be within a full hook length near them) and they'll go to him instead of disappearing.

If you don't believe me, go in a custom game, pick Thresh, and watch the souls come to you without picking them up.
