Just Realized How To Improve The Use of Manaflow Band.

When you start a game, cast an ability (about 60 seconds before lane starts ~1:00 for top/bot, ~0:40 for mid lane), put it on cooldown so that you'll actually get use out of the +8% refund of mana. Otherwise your first ability in lane is going to be when you're at full mana and it's not going to be at maximum effectiveness in lane. As long as you use an ability before it comes off CD.

Not sure if I'm late to the party since I did take a 6 month break from league and missed the release of the new keystones/runes, but I'd like to imagine i'm a little bit smart.

Why, it's a semi-useful tip with like 4 sentences of explanation. Took me like 3 minutes to write. I'd like you to explain the reasoning behind your comment as well if you'd be so kind.

Let's look at the outcomes here.

Early spell cast > Go to lane, cast another spell, your mana may or may not be full. No early cast > Go to lane, cast a spell, your mana is full.

You are missing the actual point.

No Early cast spell > Go to lane, cast first spell, your mana IS full (1 spell cast). You're next spell is at 100% cost so after 2 spells you have spent %50 mana than normal (as 1 spell was free right)

Early cast spell > Go to lane and use spell, then wait for manaband. Cast second spell. As manaband refunds 8% missing mana you will gain some mana back from the first spell.

After 2 spell casts, using manaband leads to more mana being available. It is miniscule but it is there.

Let's say you have 300 mana. Casting a 50 mana spell.

If it fills 24 mana, you gonna have worth out of doing it because:

-My way: Cast early (costing 0 gaining 0) Lose 50 mana 2nd cast, 3rd cast you gain 24 and use 0 (because now manaflow is ready in time for 2nd spell rather than first), now you're at 274 mana (if you cast 2nd spell before the cooldown is up [within 75s of first cast], you can adjust the time you have to cast by using up manaflow band later than the recommended time I gave). Your mana gain happens ~10-15 seconds after getting to lane. -26 total mana lost

-Other way: Cast first (costing 0 gaining 0), 2nd cast you lose 50 mana now you're at 250 mana. You must wait 75s for another mana gain. -50 total mana lost

You're only including first cast while in lane, my way is assuming you will cast a 2nd after you get to lane BEFORE the cooldown is up. I'm trying to understand what your comment said but it makes no sense because if you cast a first spell your mana will be full because of manaflow band (which it wouldn't be based on the way you explained my way), cast another that reduces mana, and cast a 3rd which fills it up. Idk what step you missed there.

Sorry for wall of text, I just get annoyed you didn't seem to understand something that could save you more mana, something I tried last game, and something I calculated in advance because I just sat around reading runes and thinking about each one.

So you're talking about working around the CD rather than getting more mana from the 8%.

Maybe Rito should just make it not proc if your mana is already at 100%.

Yes, I was thinking about how to work around it procing on the first ability (100% mana), so if I use the cooldown to make it come up between your 2nd and 1st ability you'll gain more out of it. It's only a minor influence but it's nice if you're mana-heavy.

I'm not high btw
