New champ select requires less "skill"

Less counter-picking: Not able to counter-pick as much since even though I see a champ I love to counter pick selected on the opposite team (top), I'm stuck selecting a mid champ since this is my designated position + no mid has been picked on the other side so I'll probably be counter-picked. I would have never picked a mid in this situation but I am forced to do so.

1 trick ponies: You don't have to be a god at all 5 positions but this matchmaking allows people to NEVER touch ADC for example if they want which is ridiculous. You should be able to play all 5 positions and be decent at them all. With this system, someone can be a diamond mid and top player while being an equivalent of a bronze ADC and jungle which makes zero sense.

I dunno, I can play 4 roles but I'm pretty bronze as ADC. I only win as ADC through luck.

and another one mad about the new champ select. New champ select is supposed to help people play their best position. Therefore, platinum people will be platinum skilled since he his always playing his 2 best role. New champ select really help to split off the skill lvls of people.

Well is not about being good at all lanes its about being good at a role you like, i personally dont like to play adc nor jg its not my stile so i dont play them and i hated it when i was last pick and was force to play one of does and most of the time that lead to losing the game. and besides just bcus you chose mid lane doesnt mean you cant go top if you feel you can counter a champ just ask your teammate who has top and see if he would like to trade simple as that.

you can still counter pick? just trade champs to the person in the countered role if they want that champ. also one trick ponies have pretty much always been viable, before this if I was going to get anything other than top mid or jungle i'd just tell my team I suck at that role and will probably feed and get the role I wanted

1 really you shouldn't counter pick: like if you see Riven don't just pick Garen if you don't know how to play it you may be counter-picking yourself do to the fact she know how to play it and you don't. it best to pick nasus Nasus if you know how to play it even if riven is a counter. but also you know how to play it. 1 trick ponies: SO what if they keep getting the role they will keep doing good and it lets them play it more. and the only reason you should cry is if you also one and can't fill or do anyone.

You can swap lanes, and whoever picked top or whatever has the opportunity to counterpick.

You can still pick wisely in your chosen lane.

Its best to be proficient in all 5 but its better to be able to choose roles you are best in to give yourself a better chance in solo Q since the ranked system sucks.

The problem is you can only swap lanes if the other person agrees on it. Previously, you could rely on pick order, so if someone picked a champ in mid you weren't good against, you could just pick another position. Now, you're stuck unless someone on your team is nice enough to swap.
