Client update/upgrade and the preseason

Hi There have been some requested changes over and over throughout the seasons and now that one ends it would be a great time to actually process them and make them come true. Please think these over if they fit in the preseason changes:

  1. Drag-and-drop mastery and rune pages: PLEASE. Reorganizing them at the moment is about taking them al apart, changing the names to something neutral and then remaking them from scratch - repeat every time when you need an extra AD page or something. Your other option is of course to keep them without any order - a mess if you like. Well.. I don't like. This should be a small change and we could keep our tabs in organised sets.

  2. Binding runepages/mastery pages to champions in the "item sets". Of course you could choose from all other pages too (I do not want to take the option to customise for your lane out of the equation at all) but you cold define a default page for your most played champions and not look for them every time you queue with a different champion.

  3. You REALLY shouldn’t show seasonal items in the "item sets" tab. It is damned annoying and it si getting even more annoying with every new seasonal game mode added. I do NOT want to see pirate items or snowdown versions of items when making a setup for a rift game. It makes no sense and quite honestly that editor starts to look like a trash heap. On the same note - Unless you make a page for gangplank or one including GP his ultimate upgrades shouldn’t show. It just makes it slower for us to find items that are actually valid.

  4. Another item set improvement: instead of making 2 different versions of items like ROA or Tear wouldn't it be easier and clearer if the set just allowed picking the item and then if we queue in a game we get the version that corresponds to the map automatically?

  5. And yet another: items could be filtered so if we pick "Crystal Scar" as a base map for an item set - the items that do not exist on the map shouldn't even show up. They have no reason to.

Well they are not "replay mode" size changes but they would certainly make it a little more comfortable to use the client and its functions. I for one would be very happy if these came to be. Sure they are not functions you need every day BUT when you do need them it consumes a great amount of time and if you make a mistake it takes a lot of time and effort to correct (in the case of runepages) - so... Please?

The rune pages aren't really a big issue for me and I have 15 of them. I just make sure I label them when I make them so I can find the proper one with a cursory glance. Everyone has their preference though. I agree about the item setups. I don't even use it because I don't wanna sort through.

I'd rather see a teambuilder version of ranked that allows you to queue up for a specific role and then enter the banning phase once you have 5 people and an opposing team is matched. This would give you the benefit of a pregame lobby that would let you feel out your teammates and discuss strategy. It would also give you the option of leaving a ranked lobby because someone on your team is being obnoxious. Once in champ select normal dodge rules would apply. People would get the roles they want all the time. Just like teambuilder your wait would depend on the role you were wanting to play with support mains probably finding games fairly immediate. It also has the benefit of you never being forced to play a role you are bad at....which is at the heart of most losses. There's nothing like supporting a guy who got stuck with adc but cant play it, against a bot lane that is either a duo or both playing their main roles. You can't expect someone to just magically get better at a role they don't like to play mid game. Eventually they start getting rekt and don't have the experience at the role to play from behind.

Another idea I have would be basing LP losses and gains off of the mastery grades you receive. It might take a little tweaking to get the numbers just right, but I think ranked should reflect how well you perform in games, and that if you are generally performing well, even when you lose.....you should fall slower and climb faster than people who are pretty consistently dead weight. I'm not saying you should lose more for having a bad game. I'm saying you should lose less for playing a good game that wasn't enough. If you get stomped you should just lose the normal full amount. On the flip side, you shouldn't be rewarded as much for getting carried. The person who carries you shouldn't get extra points for doing it, but you also shouldn't get the same points as the person who had to make up for your poor performance all game. It would make people who duo with smurfs actually have to perform in games, or over the course of a enough games, they and their duo partner will drift apart and eventually not even be able to queue together in ranked.

And for the love of god they should institute some form of LP loss reduction for games people lose with an AFK of 5 minutes or longer. Instead of everyone losing 20 points, make the afk lose 40, and everyone else 15. Having connection issues? Sorry about your 40 points but maybe that will encourage you to only let it happen once and try your connection in a regular game mode to check it's reliability before you hop back in ranked. As it stands now people will just queue back up in another ranked match and cross their fingers. The people who rage quit.......40 point penalties should make sure they either stop doing it or fall to the 7th circle of elo hell where people will only stoke their rage more.

None of these things seem like they should be relatively hard to implement. I know they'd make my gameplay experience better. I'm sure other people would feel the same way.

I don't really understand the downvote on this one - it wasn't a whinepost and what I proposed hurts noone. O well. It is not a problem it was just strange. Yes some of us are more on the brink of OCD and want to keep runepages in sets - labels of course make it managable but All AD in one set does help the on-a-glance choices to be precise and quick. Sure I can keep the most used ones together but an easy drag and drop would allow me to keep them tidy even when I experiment with something. It is absolutely and only a comfort thing.

I agree with the ranked teambuilder.
