Make It Impossible To Ban Declared Champion

It just gives troll another way to piss people off and hijack game lobbies.

Why is this even a thing?

It's also a thing for strategic reasons.

If you're wanting to Xin jungle on this patch, and you're last pick on red side, it might be a good idea to ban it anyway so that the other team can't have it with their 5 picks that they get before you.

I get that it's frustrating, but the possibility for trolling with your hover is just as high as people trolling with their ban. There's no way to get rid of trolls in champ select forever. You can only report them and let the system sort them out later.

It gives them less opportunity to troll. Think what you want but there is no way to justify banning a hovered champ.

I just gave you a good reason. If you're not interested in listening to other people's logic, why would anyone listen to yours?

I think being unable to ban teammate hovers would create more hostage situations for the rest of the team, rather than solve any persistent problem.

Riot frequently flubs balance, creating champions that are must ban or extremely frustrating to play against. If no one can ban your hover, people could queue as Support, hover the OP champion of the patch, and declare they'll only let the team ban it if someone trades them roles. Instead of a bad experience for one player in a few games, you've created a far more consistent bad experience for every player.

If you're having that much trouble with people banning your intended pick don't hover it until after the ban phase. If they're still banning it, stop playing annoying/OP champions that are common bans.

Because bans are entirely up to each player and include not wanting to play against, or with a specific champ.

Case in point, you will see people ban Pyke in ranked especially if someone hovers him because he's barely been out a week and is far too new for people to have enough experience taking him into that mode.

because some morons like to declare pyke adc.

If you REALLY want to pick a certain pick then speak up in addition to declare your champion. As far as I'm concerned when playing ranked, if someone declared a champion I wanted to ban, I would see it as a flag only and would still proceed to ban that champion unless he's either first pick (which I will ask do you REALLY wanna pick that first pick), or he speaks up.
