Zyra Plant's Targeting

So I recent started playing Zyra loving her whole plant system and all, and I understand for the most part how everything works except for her plants targeting system. I know that they will follow up on my auto attacks and they can't attack structures, but I can't seem to figure out who they attack if left alone or if my target is out of their range. Some times they attack creeps sometimes champs and they seem to me to swap targets every now and then before they get killed. I have had some embarrassing moments where I pop a spitter or stabber at long range to kill a champ and instead they start attack a nearby creep or monster. Just wondering if any one know how they choose targets.

Edit: Sorry if i did not make it clear this is not a buff or nerf request post, I just want to know how her plants prioritizes there targets beyond attack what you auto attack.

Zyra's plants prioritize:

  1. Champions you have basic attacked;
  2. Champs very close to them;
  3. Champs they have recently hit that have not moved out of their range at any time ("target lock");
  4. Champs another plant has struck;
  5. Minions you have basic attacked;
  6. Closest unit to them.

Heimerdinger's turrets are better than her plants in every possible way. In fact, Heimerdinger outclasses Zyra completely.

Nearby targets first, prioritizing Zyra's attack targets. It's pretty random in all honesty.

that is the only thing you can actually trust.. they 'adjusted' her plant AI and they where never the same again.

If you lose track theres a little target kept above who the plants are auto attacking, so just look for the target to see what they are aiming for

ive played zyra quite a bit.

if you JUST summon plants, without hitting anything, they will hit the closest target giving no preference to target. if you hit a bunch of champions with a skill, again, plants attack closest champion. if you hit minions and a champion with a skill, they will prioritize the champion. if you use another ability while plants are up they will attack that target.

i cant attest to whether or not plants will change target without you using a spell/attack on another target, ive never seen anything leave zyra plant range and come back into them.

and as always, you can put your face into the enemy adcs range and auto attack the adc to make your plants target the adc by force (brilliant rito, gj)

plants do not prioritize champions like Vicvictorw said, people can walk right past the plants and plants wont change their target unless zyra attacks them. (liandrys counts as champion damage, which will cause a target switch)

follow me now.. there has to be that same glitch that lucian had with his double tap. there was a moment when his double attack would change to another target because it was thinking that the shot would kill the minon or champion... this seems to be the same problem with her plants.. sometimes they just shift randomly when 1 shot could have secured the minion or kill..

also there is a range problem where if there is a minion just outside the range of the plant and you attack it .. then the plant just sits there.. but its truely a mystery to me.
