loss forgivens

why are they so easy to give out when you do maintenance... an hour ago it just happened, i won a game and only got half lp while the other team gets a loss forgiven, just now i get an afk who comes in for 10 seconds early game at the 1:40 mark then leaves again, do i get a loss forgiven for afk? do they get half lp... no... easily the #1 reason why this game is dying
