How does riot decide what division you are placed in after your placements?
My friend went 6 for 4 in wins/losses with super positive KD, but got placed in Bronze 4...how? last season he went 4/6 with bad stats and got silver 4

HgoE3zTRnm1 votesthe system this is different from last placements last were rewards this was a soft reset as such your mmr was destined to be lower, even if you win 80%+ of your games look at it as an opportunity to improve and play against people who were even in plat that got put in silver
Linna Excel1 votesI think their placements for past players are broken but riot won't talk about it. My guess is either in preseason the "non elo decay" is broken at least for lower levels, the placement code for older players is borked, or else the soft reset doesn't scale well for people in lower divisions. I'm not really sure what the point they reset you to is, which confuses things more.
