How do I git gud and escape tunnel vision?

I'm in bronze. I know so much about the macro of the game. I know how and when to rotate, I know how and when to take objectives, I know how to control minion waves, I know how to roam, I know how to control vision. I can play any champ I'm put on decently and can play very well on half the champions in the game. I at least have the same understanding of the game as a master player. I use mobalytics often and read all the guides and try to improve. I've watched all the league 101 vidoes. As soon as I get into a game I get tunnel vision. All I can do is micro with my champion and vision. I'll give myself that I'm fantastic with vision, but that alone does almost nothing to help me get out of bronze.

How do I escape my tunnel vision?

If you have at least the same understanding of the game as a master player, you'd be at least gold.

My problem is when I get into a game my knowledge goes out the window. I could easily be gold if I could keep my focus on macro in game. That's why I posted this, for advice on how to focus on game.

Pick a brain dead champion

Top - Chogath Jungle - Warwick Mid - Annie Adc - Ashe Support - Don't play support in low elo, if you must Blitzcrank

Figure out basic power spikes, do nothing but cs and watch the map until you reach said power spike. Then you can try to actually fight, other than that just focus on getting minions, pushing the wave, and not dying to ganks.

That's the advice I've gotten in the past. That takes too much fun from the game for me though, I need to be playing a champ with a fun kit.

I mean, if you want to be able to surpass this problem you face with tunnel vision, you need to limit the factors that are vying for your attention, at least temporarily.

You can go back to complex champions after you have gotten better with map-awareness and tracking in-game goals like objectives. You need to always be thinking about what needs to happen next, rather than just about what is going on that moment. Think about where the team is, where they need to be, and where/what your team's win conditions are.

I could probably do it temporarily. What are some good picks for mid?

Some simple characters to play include stuff like Annie and Lux, maybe Fizz if you're looking for an assassin.

Characters that encourage macro-play include, Xerath, Ziggs and Twisted Fate.

Thanks! I'll probably play Lux or ziggs, I already enjoy Lux and ziggs has always seemed fun because he can delete towers.

Glad I could help, good luck on the rift!

Play a simple champion so you don't have to devote much thought to mechanics, then practice watching your minimap. Check your minimap as often as possible, and make sure to check it before you attempt to make any plays.
