The Change in Community

Ive been playing this game on and off since 2013 and its only come to my attention that over these couple of years that the community has somewhat taken a turn for the worst ( In game this is).

Its consistently happening where people will start having arguments with one another or with the other team over minor things like, Kill stealing, dying due to the other team ganking them or even people just taunting the other team because they killed them. I don't know if its just the region of EU West that is having this problem but its just gotten to me how the community spirit in game has changed so much in the last 2 years.

I just wanted to know if anyone else feels the same way or hear other people opinions on the matter.

and if there is a possible solution to change it back to how friendly it used to be.

You can't change the community but you can always change yourself. Not saying you are toxic but obviously toxicity gets to you and maybe you don't know how to deal with that. Used to bother me too but lately I don't even have to mute, guess I learned how to blank out every negative thing said and focus on the positive/constructive stuff. When the game ends I have some hazy memory that X person was being rude so I report him and move on.

Tips and tricks:

Mute! Kinda tricky when you have to mute the one calling good shots midst the flaming but it's worth if you want to play in peace.
Be the older person. Not better- older, or act like you are more mature than the ones caught in a flame war. If two people really overdo their personal pissing contest you can step in and shame them into behaving with one line. I usually say something like "we had a huge lead before you two ladies started bickering, is ks a good reason to loose a game for?" or "stop fighting over nothing and focus on the game if you don't want to loose". It works 90% of the times, mostly cause of the phrasing, "we had a huge lead" points to the fact that they are throwing a perfectly winnable game and "if you don't want to loose" has a way bigger impact than "if you want to win". This only works in ranked tho where winning and loosing means something (LP).
Having a good day? Spread the happee ingame, compliment people, laugh, spam gj. Nobody wants to flame a person that is supportive towards everyone and apologizes for his mistakes, with that the odds of a flame war erupting drop by 20%. Having a bad day? Don't say anything cause one word can release the floodgates.
Remember that there are only so few reasons why people flame. They are either having a bad day, going trough a rough period or are young enough to don't know any better. Don't take to heart what some keyboard warriors say, it's only a game after all. No, you can't catch a terminal disease cause someone on the internet wished it and there is no way they would ever be with your mother. Laugh it out, report and move on.

Keep in mind that nobody is perfect, not even me even tho I hate to admit that. Flame gets me too sometimes, once I was even baited into typing an insulting word by a couple that didn't like me and decided to ride me till I snap so I can get banned (their words). Jokes on them, guess who got a 2 week ban instead. Still, being able to ignore 90% of the flame helped me enjoy this game again.
