[Wall of number] I actually did some maths on the ADC damage changes - Comparaison PBE Vs Live

Preface: To try a run without any interference, the runes will be fleet flootwork, presencd of mind, legend: tenacity, last stand, manaflow band and trasncendence. I keep precision + sorcery as it is kinda the standard ADC build. Sivir is taken for the two first field because she is standard, with non inherent crit passive or stuff like that. She is kinda the purest AA ADC and it allowed to like have a good medium.

I test these build on the dummy AND on the gromp. Dummy has 100 armor Gromp has 0 It is kinda to allow us to see the change that come for true damage and like raw dmg.

The "XXX + XX" for crit damage description on the PB should be read as "Physical damage + True damage"

Some question before I start:

1/ Why didn't you try these build on an other ADC, having someone with 0 armor and someone with 100 armor show a difference but it doesn't exactly show how ADC early/mid game will take it. --> I did the test alone so I didn't have a partner to test all of this and who would play an other ADC. I agree that the dmg on gromp can be a bias but the idea is more to show how a squishy (mage/ADC notable) will see the dmg difference while a bruiser/tank building early defensive stat can see how the 'new' items impact them.

2/** Why didn't you test the new Infinity Edge as a first item?** --> I didn't test IE because IE as a first item because is 'obligatory' to loose against BOTRK/Stormrazor/Essence Reaver. Notable for stormrazor, despite having +25 AD and its true damage passive, because it is dependant of having crit to use its strength while stormrazor, along with giving AS, give a GUARANTEED CRIT along with AS and MS bonus, it is kinda a no match.

3/ Why trying so much to not take runes benefit and keystone? --> To really go in a very strict mathematical view of the changes, especially because people search for some transparency. Of course, keystone and kit can make that what seem a huge buff or a huge nerf isn't actually that impactful. For example, let's say riot GUTTED the damage ADC got early but made a LOT AND LOT of sustain for them, it wouldn't mean they would actually suffer that much. It is why conclusions should be made WITH theses observations but not taken solely from it.

4/** Why didn't you try to count the DPS?** Because the way DPS work with the training ground in League of Legends doesn't allow someone like me, who isn't a strong theorycrafter, to make a GOOD and precise DPS analysis. It is why I will try to really analyse things after this showcase, because of course I can show you some damage being very high, but between doing 800 dmg every 4 second and doing 210 damage every 0,4 second, we can see what will be better.

--- Sivir Lvl 1 ---

Preface: Here to test how the damage change with a 'typical' build. To note that I didn't do a test with IE first item as IE won't be made before you buy some crit item along side. I think the build path will be something like BF ==> Item AS/Crit (Zeal? Item full?) --> IE finished

Build: Infinity Edge + Phantom Dancer . Live: 176 on Dummy if crit, 70 if non crit / 353 on gromp if crit, 141 if non crit . PBE: 118 + 58 on Dummy if crit, 73 if non crit / 235 + 58 on gromp if crit, 147 if non crit

--- Sivir Lvl 1 ---

Preface: Test to see some 'stormrazor' dmg test and comparaison. As Stormrazor is an item that kinda is making the ADC 'ignore' building crit, I just wanted to see the evolution and damage coming from different build path. And also comparing to the previous crit build path in term of dmg.

Build: Stormrazor . PBE: 122 on Dummy if crit, 61 if non crit / 244 on gromp if crit, 122 if non crit

Build: Stormrazor + Infinity Edge . PBE: 162 + 80 on Dummy if crit, 101 if non crit / 323 + 80 on gromp if crit, 202 if non crit

Build: Stormrazor + BloodThirster . PBE: 202 on Dummy if crit, 101 if non crit / 404 on gromp if crit, 202 if non crit

Build: Stormrazor + BloodThirster + Last Whisper . PBE: 293 on Dummy if crit, 146 if non crit / 484 on gromp if crit, 242 if non crit

Build: Stormrazor + Infinity Edge + Last Whisper . PBE: 235 + 96 on Dummy if crit, 146 if non crit / 387 + 96 on gromp if crit, 242 if non crit

Build: Stormrazor + Infinity Edge + BloodThirster + Last Whisper . PBE: 312 + 128 on Dummy if crit, 195 if non crit / 515 + 128 on gromp if crit, 322 if non crit

--- Jhin Lvl 1 ---

Preface: See the change for jhin that come along with crit. It is very complex (as jhin has currently different type of build) but is less about doing a comparaison on his damage vs live more than also trying to see the build order for him. We will try with different first items (Infinity edge & Stormrazor). I won't try builds with the new essence reaver or guinsoo (guinsoo coming as a third/forth item in jhin build, I don't know if the interaction has been patch or not), I rather make a part about ER and how I see it shift some character and who it fit for ADC. I don't think there is also a point to test ER on jhin in term of what is optimal about damage, because I feel ER is a total 'different' playstyle of jhin (way more axed on pushing/shoving lane like he did with doran ring before, I don't think the active is incredible on him).

Same rune build as for sivir.

Build: Infinity Edge .** Live**: 78 on Dummy if normal shot, 147 if crit / 156 on gromp if normal shot, 293 if crit . PBE: 75 on Dummy if normal shot, 105 + 52 if crit / 151 on gromp if normal shot, 182 + 45 if crit

Build: Stormrazor . PBE: 71 on Dummy if normal shot, 100 if crit / 132 on gromp if normal shot, 199 if crit

Build: Infinity Edge + Phantom Dancer . Live: 94 on Dummy if normal shot, 177 if crit / 188 on gromp if normal shot, 353 if crit . PBE: 101 on Dummy if normal shot, 121 + 60 if crit / 202 on gromp if normal shot, 243 + 60 if crit

Build: Stormrazor + Infinity Edge . PBE: 120 on Dummy if normal shot, 134 + 66 if crit / 222 on gromp if normal shot, 267 + 66 if crit Note: It is actually quite difficult to test because of the way razor edge greet AS to jhin which make his next 'basic' AA stronger by his passive that it should, which bias the test. But if you wait for it to disapear, you RELOAD stormzaroz passive :s So I did like 'mimicking' stormrazor stat by buying bunch of item

---Ashe Lvl 1---

Preface: Just testing the evolution of her dmg with a 'full build'.

Build: Infinity Edge + Phantom Dancer + Bloodthirster + Last Whisper (+ item that allow her to cap at 100% crit, two brawler grove on pbe, an other PD and agility cloack on live) . Live: 352 on dummy if frosted, 136 if non frosted / 705 on gromp if frosted, 271 if non frosted . PBE: 272 + 112 on dummy if frosted, 129 + 53 if non frosted / 449 + 112 on gromp if frosted, 214 + 53 if non frosted

What are my conclusions?

PSA: Don't forget it is just my random analysis, many of you will see things I won't realise and I am just saying this for the sake of discussing.

ALSO I MAKE CONCLUSIONS ABOUT ADC HERE. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT TOPLANES OR ASSASSIN THAT BENEFIT FOR NEW ITEMS LIKE LAST WHISPER, STORMRAZOR OR THE NEW ESSENCE REAVER.

1/ ADC build toward crit cost way more. Zeal augmentation and the new IE ask you that if you want to reac 100% crit, you actually have IE + two crit item fully made, which mean an increase of 700 gold (300 for IE + 200 for each zeal item). Infinity Edge is 'harder' to build as it cost 3700 and is made of two BF (1300 x 2 + 1100 to finish the item). Zeal is WAY WAY less efficient (1300 gold for less good stat, it is actually the only 'nerf' I consider kinda too much).

2/ ADC have way better way to deal with tankiness without it being absolute bonker toward mid game. You gain true damage from IE but need a crit item completed for it to be effective. Botrk is cheaper BUT last whisper cost 2800 and need to be fully completed to give the full effect of the pen armor. What it mean is that you won't be fully efficient against tank easily.

3/ Randuin is a such a good item now against crit ADC, it grant health and armor along with crit reduction. Any bruiser should build this along tabi ninja.

4/ Squishies will technically be the same or better if they build health against a 'fed' ADC or an ADC with 4 full item (outside of boots). From the two different fuild build I tried, they take less damage than a crit ADC in term of DPS or 'burst'.

5/ The meta will change notably because of the jungle changes, bullies won't be here because they are stronger but because the changes in the jungle ask for having dominant lane and priority in lane so your stronger jungler have a back-up easily and can abuse. Draven, Lucian (ER is bonker on lucian), Sivir will dominate bot lane, Caitlyn should stay a big contender too because of her bullying aspect. Depending of ER and how crit character can manange (notably with stormrazor), tristana and jinx could stay relevant too.

6/ Stormrazor is kinda insane in my book because the CD is SO SO SO short for the passive, it is kinda insane. Kiting ADC will LOVE this item, you will hate caitlyn and ashe with this, a good jhin can manage to have the passive for every attack.

7/ ER is weird, I think it will define the botlane because sivir and lucian will abuse this item and it synergize very very well one them. It need to have a longer cooldown and maybe shorter time window for

8/ I feel it is EASIER to balance ADC if they still are too ahead. Infinity Edge can see the true damage portion scale with level if it is too 'good' during mid game (like 10% at first, and it goes live 15% at lvl 11 and 20% at lvl 16). Same for stormrazor, I feel the item become more a question of number. Overall, loosing the bonus damage on crit from old IE feel healthier. ER and stormrazor are, I think, all about making a proper cooldown for their very strong passives.

9/ Personnal opinion, last whisper is too strong even with costing 2800. This item will be a problem just like void staff was mandatory for mage at one point and was so strong you didn't care about anything else.

Tldr... sorry I'm at work and can't read that all.

So basically are you saying adc changes make them stronger or weaker?
