Think about from riot point of view, With how stubern they are at not doing anything issue of range auto winning everytrade with mele. If they buff toplane, They are buffing top, top, , , , ... This champion already hard win laning phase in toplane, Any buff to toplane is direct buff to this champions which is just an other reason to push tanks and bruiser away Specialy in Pro play and high elo, Intel mele Vs range get fixe toplanes issue will never be fixed.

Im at the point where I don't think they'll ever fix the core ingrained range vs melee imbalance in this game.

In dota you have denying, turn rates, stat advantages and more all to allow melee to be viable in every role including primary core position 1. League has NONE of these things. And when you look at bot lane it's clear to see how absolutely weak melee is in this game.

You can watch pro games where a tristana can bully out renekton mid, you can watch faker lose a 1v1 as pre nerf akali to a tristana, you can see lucian picks INTO melee picks (or even ranged) to push EARLY game advantages and also adc scaling btw, you can see varus mid picks bully a zoe etc.

RANGE vs MELEE in this game is fundamentally screwed up. And ANYONE who acts like it's a l2p issue, please just go watch a few pro games where people counterpick melee matchups as range. If you don't get consistent jg attention youre screwed, and even if you do you're going to be down alot of cs ESPECIALLY early.

you cant lock a champ into a specific role.

and as someone who plays a melee tank top lane who faces range you can win the lane and win the game.

Most of those champs suck top and the others are mediocre at best. Top is pretty much completely dominated by melee fighters atm with Sona and Soraka being addressed already

Range is easy to deal with in lower elos because these players don't know how to kite as efficiently and make tons of mistakes (as high elo players say, anything works in low elo because players don't use champions efficiently). Like I demolished a mastery 7 Quinn with a ton of experience as Darius despite barely ever facing Quinn (just walk behind her after you grab so she vaults towards your tower lol). However, watching high rank streams, champions like Lucian can bully you under tower if you're melee with very little mobility options. Its actually disgusting to watch.
