Anyone know how the Honor system works?

Disclaimer/ish :I play a decent amount of games a day. Maybe at best 3 hours a day or more.

So I've been Honor 2 with 1 out of 3 checkpoint for a while now. I accumulate roughly 1-3 honors a game on average. I'm not toxic nor have I gotten reported/punished, hence still Honor 2.

I've had over 200+ honors the past couple of weeks.

How do you know you're about to hit checkpoint 2 or is there a requirement to hit checkpoint 2? Say getting over 300 honors?

It is secret to prevent people gaming the system, but it seems to require a certain average number of honors per game to advance, and a lack of dishonorable behavior - the system keeps track of validated reports even if what was found was not enough for punishment or warning. Stuff like AFKing probably hurts it as well.

I was honor 2 for about a year and then suddenly got two checkpoints in the last couple weeks with no real change to my honors received, though.
