just got my 9th afk in my 9th series attempt to plat 3 in a week thanks riot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i posted about my 8th series and nothing was said so lets see how long it takes im at number 9 now yay!

so its RIOTS fault random people are AFKing?
they need to permaban afkers after few afks. but they won't.
I failed 5 promos (and waiting for the next one) in a row to d4. In each one I had at least one afk or troll :D FeelsGoodMan
if you block people afk and trolls arnt a problem...
Afks aren't a problem. If you deserve to advance, you will.
Welcome to elo heaven. Enjoy your stay! This elo features mentally challenged ragers, 0/15 side lanes, Free farming Rammuses, and a 4v5 challenge mode spectacular! But wait, there's more! The closer to diamond 5 you get, the higher the chance of one of these spectacular game modes happening triples! That's right, Triples! It's like a 3 for 1 deal that you'ed only ever want if you were a masochist.
Not to be rude, but how the hell is that Riot's fault? It sucks to have bad luck, but it's not Riot's fault some people are inconveniently assholes or faced with a crisis in your games. I wish you the best and that you get to Plat 3 after all your hard work, but it's kind of unfair to just blame Riot for people leaving your games instead of proposing a change.
This is why we need a "mercy system" for teams with an AFK.

That's straight up bad luck. I play in a lower, more clown fiesta elo than plat and in over 500 games probably haven't had 9afk's on my teams. All season.

You could be lying, at least in what you would determine an AFK to be. Are these true random bye! sit in fountain afk's we're talking or just teammates who fed hard and got salty?

In my opinion we just need a punishment system that keeps consistent offenders out of ranked. Be it lag, not finishing games purposely, hard trolling, etc. Force these players to play blind pick or a separate queue or something for 3 wins before they can do ranked again.
Some things just aren't meant to be I guess.
i just installed the game 2 months ago, i read all i could, even 2v1 i win my lane most of the time too and roam to help, still i ALWAYS get the reksai mid , garen jg, yi top etc that feed 0-10 before min 10 , or afk, every single time i have promotion i get an AFK everysingle time...... i never played a game that was sooo frustrating to play competitive, it is virtually imposible for new players to rank up.. every game,i get ALWAYS bronze 4 -5 vs silver 3 -4 but when the team fights come we cannot win with an AFK.. i never seen a game that puts you in a handicap everysingle time you try to progress.... i absolutly NEVER ever have a favorable MMR team ever.. i check evrey single time too, i always have the feeding, afk how come it never works the other way? how come its ALWAYS me that gets the 0-10 team, with 1 AFK?, i play with any random person , and i start beating everysingle team 17-4 , 18-3 etc... just because i dont have a feeding team mate.. it helps me win games, otherwise its 100% feeding teams.
People keep saying you can carry your self out, yet i have prove screen shoots etc that this isnt true.. even if you crush your lane, i still lose the majority of the games regardless of trying to communicate or play as a team, people actually get more mad if you try to communicate.... and meanwhile im still in BRONZE... the worst league possible, winning everysingle game i dont have AFK by large margins with few deaths.. still its irrelevant cause i cant win more than 50% unless i team up everysingle game with someone that doesnt feed 20times a game..

I was about to get into Gold, then every game was my team full of silvers, their team full of platinum for 8 games straight. it was good!
everytime I see these posts. I picture the mind of the OP. they are picturing this guy at riot who has a furled mustache and just sits behind a desk while ragtime piano music plays in the background:
"hehehehe, Oz Hooky has reached his plat 3 promos again, time to give him an afk!"
and then he laughs insanely while pushing a button that says "fuck shit up"
and it sound an alarm. then a young Riot intern comes in and says "you called me?"
"yes yes, Oz Hooky is in his promos for plat 3 again, you know what to do my humble servant"
"lll...ill get right on it sir. shall I just afk? or run it down mid?"
"just an afk this time, next time you run it down mid and place sighstone wards under their tower"
then as the intern leaves the riot employee sees another player about to hit their Silver V promos.
"ahhh yes....Vag Blast3r, looks like you are in for a bad case of ping spikes this game"
Punishment is not the solution for the problem of AFKs. I've said it before, a more practical solution would be to allow players who aren't in a game to replace and continue the game for the AFKed person. A nice little queue where it shows a list of games with AFK players, what champs they are playing, items they have, the current score, turrets lost etc.
Punishment NEVER solved anything. Punishment as a solution to problems is a lazy way of thinking.
