I've been playing a lot of bard lately to some pretty great success.

It's hard to think about tips for him. Its pretty straightforward on what he does and how. The main thing for him is understanding timing when / who / where to hit. But i will see what I can do. For the most part just play a lot of him and you will get the hang of it though.

  • In lane he can proc item 3098 + Thunderlords very easily A Q followed by one AA (with meep) will proc all 3 stacks + your thunder and chunk them fairly nicely. Even if you didn't get stun. Be careful though many opponents in the bot lane have longer range and non-conditional CC that can be used to punish you (think thresh for example)

  • Remember you don't necessarily need to hit a champ with the first part of your Q. Having the Q hit a minion than going through to a champ behind it can be great for catching people off guard. Just takes a little bit of practice.

  • You can cast your W on an ally to give a small heal and speedboost without loosing any shrines you've placed on the map already (if you have 3) usefull for on the fly healing / escapes / chasing / just grabbing an assist.

  • Unless you're really spammy with the Q harass your W will be the biggest mana consumer. Try and make sure they aren't wasted try and place them so a) enemy can't just easily walk in and deny them 2) they won't get accidentally picked up and the wrong time (in the way) 3) they are still within reach at a moments notice

  • remember chimes restore a decent chunk of mana if your running low but notice a couple NEAR THE LANE let your adc know to be care and quickly grab them . Try and take an efficient route that lets you quickly journey back into the lane (this is particularity easy and usefull when your duo'd with the adc)

  • try to ult a turret during / right before a dive in a manner that the effect leaves your enemies exposed and defenseless

  • If you have two or more enemies following you through a magical journey don't throw the Q behind you instantly wait until the second one is about to come out so you can stun both of them as opposed to just the first one. (this is also assuming they are reasonable close together)

  • people love chasing you almost as much as singed and you have the utility / speed to evade it. This makes you great for stalling + baiting

  • item 3060 is amazing. Just that + item 3092 and a decent chime count and you will do some pretty respectable damage for a support. It alos gives the same MR aura as locket, shoves lanes and gets you more gold while doing so.

  • item 3060 + Baron buff on a cannon minion is also just hilarious

  • Don't be afraid to be a bit ballsy I often use portals to jump past chasing teammates and cut off retreating enemies can be dangerous but a stun / slow letting your team catch up and pincer the enemies often works wonders

  • time your ult well so it doesn't interfere with anyone on your team (or they will be very mad about blown cooldowns)

  • using your ult to lock down 1-2 people on the outskirts of a teamfight can be miraculous crush them 5v3 than 5v2

If your looking for some fun in normals item 1413 item 1414 be hilarious as a smite support. (i ran this a lot on bard release) Q, stun + smite + several meep AAs will chunk people. I've 100-0'd more than a couple mid / adcs this way. Also the smite gives you more control of dragon (the big steals) Just use it properly outside of combat as well. Collecting chimes? Pass wolf / Raptors? toss down a smite as you pass for extra vision control. Main thing with this is you need to be extra careful in lane since your missing summoner 3 summoner 14 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVEKH816hM8] The dream for this

Kennen Max W. Its your highly reliable targeted auto + active waveclear and aoe skill. Tracking your 4th auto proc takes a lil getting used to but becomes natural eventually. Use the proc on champions confidently. With your first mark do not insta active W. Save it to reset the duration of the mark at the end and use another 4th auto. Very reliable way to set up stuns. This is more of a top lane strategy. Kennen mid is niche due to risky waveclear.
