if you want a mid adc, varus is a better choice. i don't know much about kindred but i presume that stacks only come from targeted champions and certain jungle creeps, you would really have to snowball lane in order to get stacks instead of guaranteed stacks from the jungle monsters. so basically it can work but its better in the jungle.
