Ranking Mode Ruins The Fun?

So I'm not the best at League, don't get me wrong. I just play it for fun with my girlfriend. She refuses to go to rank mode, and the more I think about it, I understand why. It's not fun.

To me, I think too many people take this game too seriously because of LCS. And when people take a game seriously, they can't have fun imo.

For example I played a game where me and my opponent ended up just dancing infront of each other. We didn't care, my team was going to lose regardless (It was a 4v5) but we just wanted to enjoy ourselves. It was fun. I could've just tried to defeat her, but then it's just... meh.

However there's other times I play and if you make one mistake, some people will not let it go. For example, I played with my girlfriend today (technically yesterday since it's midnight atm). We played 2 games with her friend. The first game he got upset. He made mistakes throughout the game, and ended up like 10/10 when I was like 12/3 or something I forget (I was playing Kassadin mid and he was Lee jungle). However after the game he invited us to play again. This time he went Yasuo midlane immediately. I assumed it was because he didnt do too great last game. The game begins and he feeds 0/2. He started to get really frustrated and then any tiny mistake that happened, for example when I ks'd him. He freaked out. He made a big deal out of it.

The reason I highlight the two examples is because I believe the guy I was with, my girlfriend's friend, took League very seriously. Because of this, when he messed up, he wasn't able to just shrug it off. It was too important to him, so he couldn't have fun anymore. Where as me and Shy didn't care, and I was laughing and enjoying myself even though I was losing.

In conclusion, I think when you take this game too seriously it isn't fun anymore. I always try to get better, that's a fun thing to do. Unfortunately I think a lot of people forget that League is a game - and games are meant to be for fun and enjoyment, not stressful.

The problem with not taking League seriously is that you get people who want to troll, which wastes my time. I'm not saying you were trolling, but if someone on my team was dancing instead of attacking their opponent in range (or running away) I would report them because this isn't dance dance revolution.
