Obviously lethality is out of hand right with almost any champ that deals ad damage building lethality. But I was wondering why it is OP now when it is what flat armor pen was before but only at level 18. It has to scale to be as strong as flat armor pen, so getting a dirk first item isnt as significant now? (correct me if im wrong). Is the reason it is too strong right now the availability of it from youmoos, edge of night, and duskblade?
Armor pen had lesser values on runes and every item but Youmuu's, so right now with Lethality scaling at 60% it's pretty much at the previous armor pen levels and scales upwards from there. Except for Youmuu's I guess. You lose like 1-5 armor pen with lethality now at level 1, but it's quickly outscaled from there.
Lethality items are OP, because they also have other stats. For an adc, dealing true dmage with 2 lethality items + runes + op masteries , while also getting CDR, Spellshield, silly Zed ult item, Attack Damage, they are pretty cheap items too, which allow for an easy snowball and easy teamfighting. Don't I love it how , as a squishy support, i get 100-0ed by a lethality abuser, with 0 counterplay, no matter how much armor i have...
The items being easier to rush is one reason because its easier than trying to rush a

Cheaper pieces makes a big difference so ADCs that can use lethality hit their spike much faster than the crit ADCs and the lethality ADCs are already ready for teamfights before the 20 minute mark. 
alone outshines during the early game and can one shot people with the proc yet its so much cheaper than getting IE.
snowball lane , game win easily by not allowing the other team or non lethality builds a chance to scale
Items other than Youmuu used to have 10 armor pen. Now they have 15 lethality. And there are more of them. And they give free banshee, red trinket and a huge boost the first autoattack on top of that. Oh, and let's add shitloads of movement speed to that, in case it's not broken enough.
all this lethality talk makes me wonder if people remember when ad champs rushed brutalizer
