A question about MMR

So, I was thinking to myself about MMR recently, how it gives us better teammates if we've been doing well, and trolls if we're on a losing streak.

But what about our opponents? If someone has low MMR, do they get placed against people with low MMR as well? I'm just wondering if anyone knows if all 10 players in a match are in the same MMR boad (good or bad), or does it place 5 good players against 5 bad ones (Which seems unfair, so I'm hoping it's not the case)?

It places similar MMR players with and against each other.

It generates a team's MMR, and tries to find a similar team MMR to face them. A number of factors go into how wide a range of MMR will be placed together on a team though.

So yes, the games tries to arrange 10 people of similar MMR into two teams.
