Riot, its time to admit you have no idea what you're doing with Swain and stop it.

Literally not once did you guys talk to the extremely dedicated Swain playerbase before the mid-season update. Not a single post where you were like "Hey heres what we're going to do, will the 10 or so of you that play this champ give some input before we start doing massive sweeping changes to your beloved champ?"

As a result, he has turned into this monstrosity you can't balance. Heres what you do: Revert the damage nerf to his Q, revert the changes to his ult's healing back to before it got an AP ratio on the heal. After that? Nothing. Leave him alone til you've got a REAL gameplan for a proper rework. All you're doing right now is ruining Swain's future potential by forcing something stupid like a ludicrously high ult CD on that will stick in the future and that is simply unacceptable. You seriously don't know what you're doing, its embarrassingly obvious and just once in Swain's lifetime its time to do right by him. This is the whole "lets halve his snare's duration by half" fiasco all over again.

The thing is, they do know what they're doing. They're making his CD longer ( because you know 10s + CDR is pretty much 6 second downtime. ) Now he's going to have to decide WHEN ulting is the most value for the mana used.

Your " Heres what you do: " is literally just making him back to the unstable model he had before Mid-season. Do you know WHY so little people played him? His playstyle was boring and he was pretty much just a short-ranged Mage.

Adding an AP value on his ultimate? That's fine, making it 10 seconds where ( this JUST happened in LCS ) someone 1v4'd and got a double kill. He's OP, but reverting him back to his old kit? That's asking for him to be shoved back to a tier where you'll be like, " lolswain? what a joke"

Giving his ult a 30 sec cd & leaving him til at least 2017 when they have time to work on him isn't any different. At this rate he'll end up in Rito's basement where they stick all the other champs they consider a problem & don't wanna bother properly fixing.

Given how completely dominant he is in multiple lanes at all levels of play, it's definitely possible that a cooldown nerf on ult would actually still leave him in a viable position.

This had nothing to do with "Heres what we're planning please give us feedback" it was, "Heres what we're doing deal with it."

I think Swain is going in a good direction. It hurts to see this nerfs, especially after I started playing him and understanding the champion. The changes to his ultimate don't harm him that much, only change his core build. Instead of building efficient Magic Pen items (Liandrey's and Abyssal) you opt for more AP heavy items and more Tank (Rabbadon and HP). I don't think that changing his ultimate to 30 seconds cooldown is a good idea; 20 should suffice and be balanced, but those changes are not live yet.

I believe the patch last night ( 6.12 ) actually made that change, if not mistaken.

The cooldown change has only just hit the PBE and the numbers are still very much under testing.

Riot doesn't hesitate to nerf Swains everything but if Fizz is cancer since his creation he gets a +2 second cd on trollpole which hardly matters.
