Why is Syndra not an immobile mage

ChaosCode··2 votes·1,397 views

I feel like Syndra has many of the characteristics of a immobile mage. She also seems to need a rework on her passive, her passive is not exciting when compared to many other champions in the game. If she is not an immobile mage, why not??? @riot

She is an immobile mage but they felt she was in a good enough spot to not be one of the big targets of the mage rework.

Not exactly, they said they could not really improve her with a medium-sized rework (like the ones in Roster Updates), and that they needed to do either a full rework or giving her band-aids and QoL buffs with small-sized updates.

But you're right, the consequence is she is not one of the Big6, despite being an immobile mage.

Meaning we will get a "rework" in 2027+ as the chance for the mage update was successfully avoided*[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]*

She is the very definition of an immobile mage. But they don't know what to do with her. So she sits in limbo.

That's what I thought, she has so much "untouched potential (I'm funny)". But seriously most of the other immobile mages at least have a cool passive or something, Malz makes void pups, Zyra turns into a giant plant thing, Cass stacks her poison with her passive adding a little skill to play her... but Syndra just maxes out an ability... and all it gets is more damage, more slow, and more range. Very boring-_-.

Untapped power*

Also, Cass does crap not poison atm.

ChaosCode1 votes

Yeah you can play Cass with out using her passive... But her potential increases monumentally when she has 500 stacks. I ment stacks her passive with her poison lolol and you got me on the Syndra quote

Vistha Kai1 votes

Indeed it does.

At 500 stacks Cassiopeia's power rises considerably.

Too bad this increase was tailored in a way that means she has worse or just as good damage output as before the rework.

Cass's passive actively makes her a worse champion. I eagerly await its death.

How... i enjoy stacking it, although boring, it is still better than Syrdras

It forces her into a role where the rest of her kit doesn't work properly by gutting her ratios until late game. Within that role, it forces her to do exactly what she doesn't want to do: engage in trades when she's weak. A huge source of her stacks comes simply from waiting for the clock to advance, easily the stupidest mechanic in the game. It regularly needs to be rebalanced around changes to the pacing of the game and also means that Cass's rebalancing will lag behind on changes to lesser modes of the game.

It's a boring shackle mechanic that Stashu will never live down for forcing upon us.

This is true, Riot also said they are trying to make the games shorter, causing even more conflict with her passive.

I don't think it's a case of not knowing what to do with her. I think they took stock of the resources at hand and identified the champions that needed the attention more. Syndra is rather healthy in her current state, and she has some fairly unique attributes. Besides, just because she's not one of "the six" doesn't mean she isn't going to see some tweaks.

ChaosCode

Yet she does need major tweaks and she was not mentioned once while other champions, such as ziggs, lissandra, etc were.

I agree that she needs a new passive, but I don't think she needs anything else, imo. Her kit has a lot of potential, a decent mastery curve, good damage and utility, and it stays faithful to its original theme/fantasy. Again, she probably wasn't listed because she's rather healthy and others needed the attention more.

ChaosCode2 votes

She is healthy, but only because of her passive, she is rarely seen which is one of my concerns, when compared with malz or some of the other champions, I don't think the other champions need to be taken off the list... she just shold be added.

Just because she's not being reworked doesn't mean she's not an immobile mage. What is wrong with you?

ChaosCode1 votes

WTF is wrong with you, I never said she wasn't an immobile mage, I was asking why she isn't getting updated along with the other champions when she needs the changes more, think about what you say before you just spout stuff out, maybe actually READ what I wrote I do read all of the comments and why attack me, you have no reason when I am just asking a question.

Did you read your title or post...? You're suggesting someone thinks she's not one and felt the need to point out she is one... Just because she isn't being changed doesn't mean Riot thinks she's a mobile mage.

ChaosCode1 votes

if she was of any concern why wouldn't riot mention her in any thing, she has a major issue and the title is used to catch riots attention... you don't work at riot you don't know maybe they do classify her as a mobile mage, YOU DON'T KNOW KID, I want an answer from riot, if you don't have anything good or helpful to say then why comment at all.

I was answering your "question", and I'm not a kid.

You should also learn to follow your own advice before throwing it around demanding others to.

She was suppose to get update to her passive in... 5.17 I believe, but they postponed them because they had no time before the patch day.

Seemingly postponed it indefinitely since.

Shame, but perhaps for the better, as I don't trust them doing any change to any champion at this point.

ChaosCode1 votes

I agree many of the new updates have completely changed everything I like about the champion (gp for example) but the old gp was in a worse place than syndra, but she still needs a major rework.
