Context on Trinity Force changes on PBE
I know PBE is always subject to change. From what I have seen so far Trinity Force is having some stats significantly changed.
It now builds with stinger instead of zeal.
20% critical has been removed. 10% CDR has been added for a total of 20%. Attack speed is 40% up from 15%
Off the top of my head the champs I can think of that Trinity Force is absolutely core on are as follows: Irelia, Gangplank, Jax, Corki, and Hecarim. (I am aware there other other champs that make great use of Trinity Force, but it's not as core on them as it is these 5)
I feel like this would be a buff to Jax and Irelia, and a nerf to Gangplank and Hecarim. I'm not sure if it's a buff or nerf to Corgi tbh, but I feel like it would be a nerf.
Now I have to admit, I'm quite biased. Gangplank is one of my most played champs, and I can't see how this isn't a huge nerf to him. His standard build has 60% crit (assuming you need to build 1-2 defensive items like maw or gage). With the crit removal on Tforce that would make his build 40% which would be a large nerf to his mid and late game.
Hecarim and Gangplank don't care so much about attack speed, it's not useless, but hardly a sought after stat.
So I'm wondering if the intent is to buff Irelia and Jax? Nerf GP and Hecarim? Or are you intending to widen the pool of champs that can make use of Trinity Force?
Riot answer would be appreciated :)
There ya go.
On a serious note though, it may actually be nice if riot moved the crit to another item or introduced an item with AD and crit (
maybe?) However, these Tri-force changes are experimental and may not actually go through.
