Urgot actually isn't that bad
I know that Urgot is really... not a popular champ, to put things lightly. However, with the way people talk about him, you'd think that he was so bad that picking him causes you to automatically lose the game.
Now, I'm not going to say that Urgot's a perfect champ, because he's not. He has a lot of issues, and a bit of a weird kit that doesn't synergize that well with his stats, and he is very mana-hungry if you don't do anything about it. Not to mention, he has a serious lack of mobility, making it difficult for him to stick to an enemy to deal big damage. However, despite those flaws, it's still possible to build him in such a way that he can act as a decent fighter with some nice power at his disposal. For example, rushing a
will help deal with his mana issues early, and grabbing a combo of
+
will allow him to peel armor in order to hit even harder with his autoattacks and Acid Hunters.
Plus, his ult, despite looking very strange at first glance, actually has some decent uses. For example, there's the obvious use of trapping an enemy under a tower for an easy kill, but you can also use it to turn the tables near the end of a duel, taking advantage of the increased armor to shrug off their attacks, or use it to briefly incapacitate an enemy during a teamfight, giving your team a short advantage. It may not synergize with anything else in his kit, and that is a bit of a bother, but as for what it is, it can still come in handy from time to time.
Basically, what I'm saying is that we shouldn't give up on Urgot just because he's got some problems. He's not as useless as they say he is, and he can actually be a pretty decent surprise if you know how to use him. Just because he's not in the meta, that doesn't mean that he can't be a good part of the team.
