Played a game last night that show the problem with towers.

So at level 5 me being Garen was tower dived while at full health. Now the problem was that it was a Lulu and a Graves. Both squishy. and at level 4 graves survived 5 tower shots. This happened 3 times.

Towers mean nothing. They don't pose a threat at all.

Actually, towers do pose a threat. If they didn't, games would end instantly. Towers' first hits usually do small amounts of damage and grow, up to 120% bonus damage after three consecutive hits. If it was just Graves, you'd survive easily against the tower dive. But with Lulu's shielding and the attack speed buff, it's much easier to tower dive. But I still find it hard to believe that you'd die from this unless you were already feeding the Graves.

actually most champions can take 5 hits by tower no shield required, towers simply don't do damage and 30% pen is nothing -.-

tanks can even take 8 to 9 hits, as in matter a fact i once saw an adc getting killed by a lvl 1 sion sup bot towerdiving, the sion survived....

towers pose zero threat, even scuttler crab is more dangerous .o.

Lol, that's impossible unless the ADC was about to die anyway. If the Sion used his passive though, it's more reasonable but still difficult to accomplish.

Sure, towers can take a bit before killing a champion, but you are forgetting that they are towerdiving another champion. Unless the person getting towerdove is just standing there, the champion towerdiving would be taking damage from both the tower and the person under the tower.

nope saw it happen, is not impossible.

i swear he walked in full hp, and killed the adc in about 2 hits while tanking us and the tower, he barely took damage :/ maybe sion is just too tanky with too much ad, i checked him at level 1 and he had more ad than any adc, while he also had more hp and armor AND mr [zombie-brand-mindblown]

i did some math on the towers and found out, that squishy champions can take about 5 to 6 hits and beefy champions can take 10 to 12 and tanks 12 to 15 hits even @.@

2 hits? That is impossible if the ADC was full health. Obviously, the ADC was less than half health for Sion to auto twice or a fully-charged a Q with an auto to kill the AD and survive.

(Also, this is more on Sion's damage itself, not the tower or Sion's tankyness. A Sion's fully-charged Q at rank one does 60 + 195% AD physical damage. This would mean that if Sion had 90 starting AD, the charged Q would do 236 damage, excluding armor.)

I tested the survivability of a level 4 Graves with items and it took 5 hits to die without other sources of damage. This would mean that during the fight, the Garen basically sat there and took the damage. The Lulu didn't shield, so that's ruled out. If the Garen fought against the Graves, it would have taken him low enough to take, at most 3 hits from the turret to die.

the sion i was talking about had 93 ad, i swear it took 2 hits, he walked in and walked out alive with a kill, im not trolling or joking.

lets do some math, towers have 152 ad at first and 180 max i mean outer towers though, inner towers cap at 250. the outer tower has 30% armor pen, so the math would be :

the damage done with 152 AD and 30% pen against a champion with 50 armor is : the formula to calculate damage done is : total ad divided through (100 + total armor) times 100

so 50 divided through 100 times 30 = 15 50 - 15 = 35 total armor

152 divided through (100 + 35) times 100 = 112 1st hit

152 + 40% = 212 ad

212 divided through (100 + 35) times 100 = 157 2nd hit

212 + 40% = 296 ad

296 divided through (100 + 35) times 100 = 219 3rd hit

296 + 40% = 330 ad

330 divided through (100 + 35) times 100 = 244 4rd AND 5th hit = 488 total

all in all 5 hits do : 112 + 157 + 219 + 244 + 244 = 976 damage against 50 armor

how much health does a lvl 4 graves have? 800? so yes 5 tower hits should be enough.

i do find towers weak though, a tank would have 100 armor by that time .-.

and generally it takes about 2 to 3 tower hits to succesfully kill doing a towerdive. giving most champions have under 100 ad at lvl 4 doing at max half the damage the 1st tower hit does. so the 1st hit does 112 damage divide that through 2 and you have 56 damage, the 1st 3 tower hits do 488 damage, + champion damage = maybe 5 at most? 5 times 56 = 280 damage 488 + 280 = 768 meaning a graves could survive a towerdive if he can kill his target within 2 to 3 tower hits [sg-ahri-1] don't forget that garen is slow either, and if his spin is on cd .-. so i would say plausible though.

riot should raise the tower damage/penetration and multi target if you ask me O,O

They Do Not It was FB and lulu didn't even shield him.

HeyItzSteve1 votes

It was definitely not First Blood. And I forgot to add that you were most likely not even trying to hit Graves if he took that many shots before dying.

Kavren20551 votes

It was and I did.

Why are you trying to deny it?

HeyItzSteve1 votes

Because I checked your match and it clears shows bot lane getting first blood. If you did hit Graves, there's no way Graves died after 5 hits. A simple Garen Q, E takes out at least 1/4 of Graves' health. With 3/4 health, it would take more like 3 hits to kill the Graves.

meowwow71 votes

are people forgetting graves still gets a hefty amount of armor from his dash ._.

HeyItzSteve1 votes

Well, then this thread should be complaining about Graves' armor instead of how towers deal zero damage. lol

meowwow71 votes

it's kind of a bit both since if you have any armor tacked on other than that 30 or so base armor with above 1k hp it feels like nothing
