To me the reason i started to play vayne was because you can win lane based on how good you are with vayne, unlike other adcs where you're reliant on your support and jungler. When you do get a bad support just farm till late game, vayne has a really strong two item spike right now building bork and guinsoos. Once you reach these two items and boots, you should be fine if 1. You stayed caught up in farm 2. Your team didn't all int. You need atleast someone to help peel for you 3. You didn't die during the laning phase to many time, i try to limit my deaths to 2 deaths during the laning phase because anymore and you will be too far behind. 4. You know how to outplay people with your condemn. Vaynes condemn has very special interactions with different champions and their skills. For example you can condamn to anivias wall or you can stun people if you hit condemn when a thresh flays the enemy team. I found a list of the interactions on some wiki page a while ago, which shouldn't be too hard to find. Whats good about vayne now is that most adcs are terrible during the laning phase now and incredibly strong, no matter how many times they inted, when they hit a 2 or 3 item spike during the late game. Vayne outscales most adcs except maybe twitch, but she has one of the greatest outplay potentials if you know how to utilize her kit correctly.

I don't really understand the question. If you're not showing up to take a champ that you're A. solid with and B. able to carry the game with then I'm not sure you should be in ranked.

Regardless of the role I'm in, I take a champ that, when paired with a player of equal skill, I win, and when I'm outmatched, a champ that I know well enough to mitigate the damage my team will take.

As Rook Pusher said, if you want to carry, you need to pick a champion you can carry with. It needs decent enough early game power that you don't have to depend on your support, self-peel to allow you to CS without help from your support, and engage so you can punish mistakes and get fed without your support. So basically play Tristana, and be good at her. Sivir is also good for self-reliance. However, there's only so much you can do solo in the duo lane. If it's ranked consider bringing a duo partner.
