What are you supposed to do in this situation?

The game is hopeless and you've got a duo that won't surrender. What do you do in that situation? I have the hardest time forcing myself to play the game when it's a futile effort. Most of the time I end up sitting at fountain to let it end faster. I wish surrender votes were simple majority.

You play and try to win.

Losing a game isn't the worst thing in the world. You should play it out, try to learn from it and still try to win.

If you can't handle losing some of the time the you shouldn't play competitive multiplayer games. Because there are always winners and losers for every match, and chances are roughly half the time you'll be one and the other half the time you'll be the other.

Play to win. It really is as simple as that. Accept defeat when the defeat screen runs across the screen. I really only surrender if the other team just aced my team inside the base with enough champs and minions to win the game, and even then sometimes I vote no just to make sure they win.

Just giving up is a guaranteed loss, other team could always make a mistake, sometimes you have to realize that your team scales better so with some patience, good defense, and good ward coverage you can come back late from a rough start.

AFK'ing is never an acceptable response to a rough game.

I've had plenty of games where theres some salty person more or less afking who said the game was over 20 minutes ago, that we ultimately won or almost won if the person didn't give up way prematurely. (I've had games where a nasus of all champs decided the game was over at 15 minutes and dc'd. 20 minutes later they reconnected in disbelief that the game was still going, since the rest of us were still trying and managing to outplay the enemy team well enought to stop most of their advances despite 4v5. While we did eventually lose, it seems very doubtful we would have if we'd have had a nasus who'd been stacking for 20+ minutes and providing pressure.)

Sure, maybe theres a full build level 18 enemy fed out of their mind and your teams highest level is 14, but that means the worst is over and they're not getting any stronger, while your team is now consistently catching up, as painful as it may be, until eventually it doesn't matter that the enemy team is up 20 kills. If the enemy team is good, sure, they'll quickly push their lead to a victory before you can catch up, but if thats the case it'll only be a few minutes before the nexus falls so theres no real need to surrender. And if they aren't ending, then that means they aren't good, and you have a chance to catch up and get a critical pick once death timers are huge.

After 50 minutes or so, pretty much every game boils down to a 50:50, almost independent of the champion scalings, simply because of how impactful a single pick can be.

I've won games I (and my duo) have refused to surrender on.

What do you do? You play the goddam game. You communicate with your team. Maybe you're the reason you're losing. Maybe it wasn't the duo.

EDIT: Sitting in fountain pretty much tells the rest of the team you're the problem as the one who's not trying to win. How long have you not been trying? Do you ever try, or do you just wait for the enemy to fail enough that the game turns into a stomp?

Like why the fuck do you think you not being willing to push for a win means everyone else has to obey your say?

Though I agree with the vote suppose to be a majority thing it is a bit scummy to just afk just cause you're not getting your way bro. And I'm guilty of rarely to never surrendering but right now if two people aren't ready to call it quits then you're not ready either. It's how the game works.

The worst thing you can do is quit. If you leave the game, than you will have to deal with the punishment. just play it through, and take a 4 minute break to lessen the chances of getting the same players.

well one of you can bite the bullet and afk after voting yes to surrender to hopefully fix the problem(barring riot stealth patching this in the last three patches)

It can be tough when you believe a game is over, but a surrender won't go through. However, as long as those people are still trying to win they are not to blame, as they most likely see a way for the team to still win. Your strategy of sitting in the fountain can be reported, as you are giving up on the game. Even though it's difficult, I highly suggest you keep playing the game that way you; A) Will not be reported for giving up. B) Still have a chance of winning the game and making your effort worth it.

In the end, you just have to keep playing and try your best to enjoy the game till it's over.

Afk'ing in fountain is the losers way out. Play it out and deal with it.
