No offense but Ornn was godly BEFORE he got his buffs. Players didn't get long enough exposed to him before they decided he needed a buff.
I was Mastery 7 Ornn Day 2 of his release in 17 straight games - 16 wins.
His "Buffs" weren't really buffs as much as restructures. But they were mistaken for OP status, because the interaction with Ornn and Top lane just is..... impossible to balance because his intrinsic kit design doesn't play well with other Top lanes who have to walk back to lane, or can't deal with semi frequent barriers or sustained damage.
If you compared his "skilled" top lane play in any of the patches, they turned out about the same until Season 8, because of the new runes and none of them really working strongly on him (Aftershock has loss value, as does Grasp; They just aren't even tier 1-2 on him). Even then, I can still carry with Ornn.
I mean if you really think about it, the ONLY change to his kit that WASN'T a restructure was his Passive: The Minimum 13 level part of it was added to protect his TEAMMATES FROM THEMSELVES because purchasing early was negative in stat values vs holding off as a last or close to last improvement, yet players were Masterworking their first items.
He is NOT the worst champ in league. People are not playing him right. I can absolutely dominate with him. Try Phase Rush build with Manaflow Band, Transcendence. You can get his AD up to about 350-400 even on a very tanky build, which makes his Q more dangerous, and items like
double dip and help E too.
As long as you focus HP over Armor, you generally can still perform VERY well. Just attempt to make him a mobile tank rather than just a PURE tank.
