How Does Matching System Work Exactly?

I'm not entirely sure it's working properly on my end, I'm always being pitted against gods and end up with 5 deaths per 1 kill (if any kills at all). I just started playing Normal recently and don't seem to be getting along well with how it works. I'm always asking my allies to report me as an unskilled player in an attempt to get me playing where my odds really are 50/50 and not 5/95. Particularly, I would like to know if it has anything to do with the fact that I've only played against bots up until I reached 30? Or is it that I just suck and should probably stick to bots?

Everyone starts with the same MMR. You gain MMR when you win. You lose MMR when you lose.

Matchmaking takes 10 people with roughly the same MMR and puts them in a game together. When the game ends, MMR get adjusted.

After a large number of games (usually within 100 games but it varies), people's skill level and MMR will be roughly in the same spot.
