Why is the Blue and Red team LP gain difference a thing

I have no idea why it is a thing and it seems like I am consistently placed on the red team thus punishing me from both winning and losing since I win less LP than normal and lose more. It makes trying to climb much harder than it has to.

I feel like the reward should be the same regardless of the side of the map you're playing on.

Just an opinion and a rant from a trashy player though.

Red team is at a disadvantage as its on top of the screen, so it puts the team with the higher MMR average and more likely to win up there, which slightly affects LP gains/losses as it attempts to predict the likelyhood of each team winning.

Tbh, red team can go fuck itself. So tilting getting placed top, and i really wish riot made a damn mirror setup to flip it when youre on red team.

Riot's ranked system is highly flawed is the reason. Blue side is known to have a higher win rate so in a horrible attempt to balance this they give purple side higher MMR players. However lp gains and losses is still based on your mmr compared to the enemy teams. Since on red side your mmr is higher you will gain less and lose more than if you were on blue side. Also reason why challenger gains are so bad is because your lp gains and losses is only based on your mmr, not your team. So if a 2500 elo player gets matched with 4 2000 elo players against 5 2100 elo player, the 2500 elo player will lose more and gain less compared to his 2000 teammates.
