If you think kills are the only thing that matter in this game. this isnt the game for you.

This game isn't for you, find something else I don't care if your plat diamond masters or challenger if you think kills are the only thing that matter you may as well give the account to the friend that boosted you. I just ended a game at 2/6 with lucian I single handedly killed 6 towers and two inhibitors. Because my MMR has dropped due to recent games i've played with friends and trying to get a grasp on xayah I was paired with wannabe gods who will still swear up and down i was the biggest issue on the team because i didn't group up to die over a cloud drake. People need to realize this game isn't a team death match and cloud drake isn't worth dying for. I wish when people explain how to carry themselves they didn't just imply doing well. When people explain how to carry you have to stop being so vague with the explanation you know why people never actually give credit because they have it beat into their heads from the start score is the only thing to care about and NOBODY tells them otherwise when they ask with the exception of trick2g. People need to be more like him despite how much i hate myself for saying that. Its not hard if any popular or even kinda popular streamers or youtubers see this please for the love of god be more clear most of the people who watch steams and videos are trying to get better telling them "kills kills kills" just gets them angrier in the next games when they lose and don't know why. If any bronze players silver players gold players ect. that think kills are everything read this learn that they aren't going 0/92 is (while impressive that you died that much) a problem it doesn't mean you cant do something. I was 2/6 due to joining a fight with them and while the bronzies i played with will never admit to it me getting the 6 towers and 2 inhibitors i did won the game the name of the game is pressure if your team cant fight put pressure down do it yourself kill a tower if your team is losing fights push towers make them aware you'll take everything if they don't stop you. If it fails and your team is losing hands down it may be a lost game not all games are winnable. And no im not saying never fight im saying if you know without a shadow of a doubt you wouldn't make a difference in a fight then push make them back off your team give them a reason to worry that alone can make them lost fights due to them picking one they shouldn't have,or one of their team going back to stop you can give your team the edge they need to win the fight that win turns into another one and then another one until they can win without you. Kills aren't everything.

Paragraphs, PLEASE.

Herr Hugendubel4/24/2017, 12:16:35 PM5 votes

I agree, but on the other hand, if you want to pressure objectives by yourself, being an adc is not a good idea. If the opponents were decent and you try to pressure lanes alone as adc, you should be picked off every time. But then, if your team never gets objectives, it might be the only way.

I do this a lot, but I am a top main and there it is more reasonable as your build and abilities are different. But I won plenty of games, where the team complained about me the whole time (even got reported on some of them) but there was really no other option as teamfighting doesnt work when you are behind. But I guess you have to get to somewhat higher elo for people to understand that. It is a shame, though.

Pro tip OP, paragraphs.

Didnt read all of the post as the eye strain of keeping my place on the wall was getting to me.

At any rate, yeah you can win the game 32/2/10, or 5/18/4. Either way, its the team that kills the nexus that wins.

Nice wall of text.

I agree with your point, but its hard to read without paragraphs, might want to fix that.

If you killed me for first blood, but I'm up 50 cs, I still won lane.

If you think spaces between paragraphs mean everything these forums aren't for you.

My ADHD is killing me but at least I attempted to read the great wall of text. Totally agree. 0-12 Kayle, pushed all the way to and got a nexus tower, often they would have to send multiple people to stop me because my farm was excellent equating to more gold(gold is power) and #JustKayleThings.

Considering that giant wall of text, using the forums might not be for you. :P

As others did, I only got about halfway through the paragraph before I gave up because it's hard to read.

That being said, yes, kills don't mean everything, but if you're dying 6 times, you've got a lot to learn.

  1. Towers are important, but leaving your team to die can mean you losing more towers than the one you're taking, where being the DAMAGE DEALER in a teamfight can make all the difference.

  2. CS is incredibly important. I started a game 1/4 because I was playing like an idiot then realized I had double the enemy adc's CS, so instead we bullied her out of cs and I ended up being over 3 times her CS at the end of the game, I outcarried her and we easily won it.

  3. Split pushing is a great way to win but if you don't have every bit of the map covered in wards I don't want you to even consider it unless you see all five of them on the other team. (PS keep teleports in mind) I guarantee at least 3 of those deaths were from you solopushing towers out too far. Learn how to get a wave slow pushing, that will help your case a lot.

  4. This is, in fact, a team game. Learn to be a part of the team and how to properly adapt to your team and you'll win far greater games for it. Try supporting and/or jungling for a bit, it humbles you and teaches you all the little things you should be paying attention to, like awareness, warding, timing, and risk assessment.

I would need to watch this particular game to argue whether your actions were good or bad, but just from the facts you presented (you were not present in teamfights, you still had 6 deaths, and you didn't even mention CS so I an only assume it was not good), you could easily have played better this game. But you're right, it's not about the kills, it's about pretty much everything else.

the only part of the k/d/a I care about is the deaths. Keep your deaths low and people can carry you if you fuck up.

the thing I hate most is when they throw fighting near baron while I'm in base, and so instead of wasting my time arriving at a fight as it finishes I push bot tower. and then the enemies, instead of baron, go rescue their tower. and then I die, because I'm just an immobile AD. and then they say "report ashe feeding" when I literally just stalled Their feeding asses to attempt to maybe actually group with the three item ad next time.

oh and then, a fight starts and they all dive past some assassin or tank who kills me and they go "useless ashe" and I'm like "yes, very helpless indeed."

Sorry pal you been hoodwinked by the riot thought police. Every single objective in this game is taken off the back of kills. KILLS ARE EVERYTHING as they lead to the objectives that result in a win. So you are wrong, and confusing "kills" with "chasing kills to run up your score". No game is ever won without kills, towers are taken after you kill the defenders, dragons are taken after you make a kill, baron is taken after you make kills. Noone fights baron and the other 5 enemy players at once, you dont stand there and punch down nexus towers while you ignore 5 enemies pounding on you, you make kills first them you use your numbers advantage to push the objectives....KILLS ARE EVERYTHING.

Sadly some times you will have your story of a tryndamere feeding all game and then splitting to take a base while his 4 teamates hold off 5 enemy players, but that wasnt a result of the tryndamere it was a result of his 4 teamates being far better players than the enemy 5 who doesnt understand they can just dive 4 kill them and win the base race, or all back push up your lane then dive. Aka its only works vs baddies and is no indication that you don't need kills.

When I play normals I'd care less about the nexus if I am get a penta

Bouncemaster Zac4/24/2017, 8:00:32 PM1 votes

Kills aren't the only thing that matter, but in the current state of the game they are the thing that matters most. League, like every MOBA, is a game of objectives, and a game can be won with no kills on either side. Buuuuuuuuut you have to consider: when is it easiest to take an objective? When the enemy isn't there to stop you. What is the easiest way to make sure the enemy isn't there to stop you? Kill them. Two kills might not seem like a lot... until those two kills mean your team gets a dragon, a turret, and a rotation into a push in another lane with a gold lead.

I was actually watching a little of Bricky last night where he ranted about people who chase kills instead of killing the Nexus. Come today my fed Ekko and I are in a 2v1 against the enemy Caitlyn at the Nexus towers. I attacked towers while Ekko chased the kill and ended up dying. I couldn't take everything on my own before the enemy team all respawned because I was Janna. We still won the game, but it irritated me that Ekko drew it out. We were lucky the enemy team didn't ace us and turn it the other way.

Also... mindlessly split pushing is never going to make you win either. If your play style is "ignore team and grab waves" then play Trynd or Udyr (or if you need to play ADC then tristana).

There's absolutely no need to split on Lucian because in any higher elo split pushing will ONLY STALL the game 90% of the time and maybe you'll grab a tower or two.

If youre Tristana stalling the game is great so eventually you 1v9 their team with the CS and tower gold. However, if you're Lucian you're completely wasting your mid game by not being in skirmishes - because if you get your team ahead enough it doesn't matter because you can brute force objectives.

Also this mentality of "go for objectives when whole enemy team is alive but back right after you win a team fight is so prevelant".

Kills = objectives if played right. Without kills anyone with a brain isn't going to give up objectives for free unless you have next level map rotations (which only really happens in competitive). That's why you see Challenger players going so hard for kills or chasing really hard. Because those 20 sec death timers mean SAFE objectives like tower and drake with a numbers advantage.
