Internet DC'd, came back and won, counted as loss because "leaver". How is this acceptable?

So, I was playing a ranked game, and wouldn't you know we were actually winning, doing very well, when all of a sudden. I hard disconnect with no warning. Turns out my brother accidentally pulled the wi-fi cable downstairs. Takes me 7 minutes between disconnect and reconnect time, from 8:10 to 15:10

As you can see, I returned to the game, and we proceeded to handily win it. Then I'm greeted with a LOSS in my promo results, despite the fact that I came back and helped my team win the game

I never go afk. I never disconnect or rage quit, no matter how badly the game is going, because I don't want to be punished. My ping is solid, reliable, and my internet is not spotty. I am not a repeat offender of this. But for the Leaverbuster to be THIS sensitive is completely ridiculous, and it's cheated me out of my earned win. This needs to be changed because for it to slap me with a punishment for this is completely unacceptable.

You disconnected for more than 5 minutes. Any team who has someone who left for more than that time give a massive amount of disadvantage to their own team.

  • Lucky you were support. If you were that player with 13 kills and would go adc role, i'm pretty sure that the game outcome would have been different
  • Your grade for the game was D-, which translates as not very good
  • At this stage, your team were mostly already winning and didn't even need you.

Even if you came back, you were pretty much useless for the rest of the game as you played for an additionnal 13 minutes.

I agree this might suck for you because you needed that win for your promotion, but that's how it works.

I'm actually curious as to why **in general **there's no difference in penalty for someone who comes back vs. for someone who RQs and calls it a day. Like whats the purpose of coming back if you're going to get the exact same outcome? Why discourage people trying to come back and complete the game?

You've completely missed my point. Yes, I know that's "just how it works", my ppint is that the bot is FAR too trigger-happy in its picking on what constitutes a "leaver."

But to address your points:

Your grade for the game was D-, which translates as not very good

As far as I'm concerned this is irrelevant, because you get docked in grade simply for losing, which as far as the Leaverbuster is concerned, I did. Moreover, the first of those 3 deaths was directly caused by the sudden disconnect: Nothing I could have done to prevent it. Keeping all of these factors in mind it's asinine to even imagine trying to use my grade as a reason for why I didn't deserve being given my win.

At this stage, your team were mostly already winning and didn't even need you. Even if you came back, you were pretty much useless for the rest of the game as you played for an additionnal 13 minutes.

Do you know why my team was winning? Because during those first 8 minutes of the game I did my part in feeding my Twitch. And then by the time I got back into the game, I was mildly worried to see Yasuo had gotten rather fed. But I caught up and scaled properly once more, and even supported my Twitch in a 1v2 vs the Yasuo that he likely would not have won without me there.

Might my team have won without me? Possibly. Did my return make it easier for them to win? 100% yes, I returned and picked up as much of my slack as I could and handily helped them win the game.

You don't have enough information to say that I was useless or didn't do my part. Even if I didn't necessarily do much after returning, I still got my ADC fed during those first 8 minutes, which is undeniably doing a major role for the team.
