Why even have a report option?

It just doesn't make sense to me why it's still an option. People these days will laugh and say: Yea, so what? if they get reported. The community has become so toxic as a whole it doesn't make a difference. I know it's there to make people feel like they matter and make them feel like something's getting done, but I had a couple friends make smurfs and purposefully get reported. Their accounts went weeks with them spewing toxicity and didn't get banned, so they gave up and walked away. Just getting disheartening to continue playing a game I've played for 5 years and not see any change in the system. At least have an option to remove chat from the game like heroes of the storm now that you can communicate with pings.

Your "friends" contributing to the problem, ruining the experience of other players, and that makes you right? Murder rate is high!

I know it is because I shanked three people last night! Proof that murder is happening, because I did it.

Played a half dozen games yesterday, one toxic person in two matches, unsurprisingly it was the same person both times - reported and in post game lobby of the second he was getting a notification that he was chat suspended... it works.

Ya because you perceive that players aren't punished fast enough, let's just let them all off the hook permanently! Good idea. Let's just forget the Instant Feedback system they worked so hard on which punishes people far faster than Tribunal voting did. Let's pretend the Feeder Detection system doesn't exist. Riot clearly hasn't done anything if you can pretend hard enough!

As well, just because you got offended or they insulted you does not mean they must be banned (*said in a gruff voice). It takes more than one offence for punishment. Imagine if Police arrested everyone for speeding on their first stop. We would run out of drivers!
