Is this a bug? (Garen)

When Garen's ult is canceled it doesn't go on its cd. This can be very annoying when you cancel it and then he just uses it again and kills you or when he tries to use it and his target is killed before it pops.

I feel like this is a bug because other champs ults go on cd even if the animation is canceled (e.g Rek Sai) often as soon as the button is pressed.

I can also see this being a mechanic to make him more friendly to new players, but i think that a champion not having to follow rules all others have to is unfair, even if it is to make him easier to do well on.

I would apreciate a reason if you say no.

There's not really a reason for it to be canceled and/or go on cd when it doesn't hit

It's a point and click instant ability, as in, there is no projectile to dodge.

Either you use it and it hits while going on cooldown, or it doesn't hit so it doesn't go on cooldown.

It'd be like trying to dodge the hextech gunblade active, it's just an instantaneous effect, it only goes on cooldown if you can actually hit the target

Yeah. I noticed this as well. It’s really really dumb. They litteraly just made him as easy as possible.

If you go out of sight or whatever mid-cast it'll cancel it's self and remain off cooldown but if you silence him mid-cast (not interrupt as it's not a channel) it'll get put onto cooldown

It is frustrating since there are a multitude of other ults that get canceled or interrupted and they just go on CD. :/ Tristana's ult for example goes completely on CD regardless of whether she got the full animation of its cast off or not.
