As a Zed main, I find myself in many situations within games where I can NOT 1v5 and likewise 1v9.
So I was thinking about the possibility of learning a new midlane champ that isn't braindead and can 1v5. Here are my possibilites:

So as an ex Akali main, for a long time I thought I just needed a different assassin. I love Akali still, but I don't see myself controlling a game with her. But I ended up maining 
and climbing super successfully despite the difference in play style. Karthus is like the definition of a 1v5 champ. He still has that super good feel when you're able to outplay and 3v1 or 4v1 or 5v1 the enemy team, but you have the added benefit of having constant global pressure in side lanes which is really helpful in a meta where one side lane can cost you the game.
Not only that, mid-late game Karthus just has more of an impact on teamfights than almost any other champ, and definitely more than most any assassin. If you manage to hit 30 minutes without being helplessly behind, you're pretty much set to win.
