Hey, i have started playing riven now im pretty much confused about which first item to get with riven. I have the black cleaver for CDR and armor pen , Hydra for AD and life steal and the active and ghostblade/only brutliazer. when do i need the cdr more then the ad? when should i buy first item brutlizer and then advance to Hydra or ghostblade or Black Cleaver? thanks in advance
Hydra first, always. Damage is your priority. Usually I do hydra into brutalizer, then whichever boots if the game is going normally, Youmoos if you're getting fed. Whichever you didn't finish first is your next item. From there, cleaver and after that last whisper. Last item is situational, but I usually go BT, GA, or very situationally, IE or mercurial. Maybe maw of malmortius, but meh, it's not usually as good imo.
A 20% damage boost to a tiny number is still a tiny number. You also don't need the armor pen early game because nobody has any armor that early. The lifesteal on hydra is also important as it helps Riven sustain in lane early game. If you have to back after every kill, you aren't winning lane as well as you could be.
