Can MIA pings just be removed from lower divisions and MMRs?

Seriously, there's ABSOLUTELY nothing most people would have done different after seeing a MIA ping. Heck, most of the time they don't even notice it. It's just one more source of flaming, the number one reason why bronze is bronze. Can we just get rid of it? I'm seriously tired of hearing "WHERES THE MIA" when they don't even mean anything.

I can remember one time I started to say "Why didn't you call missing??" after suffering a gank from river and as I was typing, I scrolled up the chat log and found the missing had been called and I hadn't noticed it. I changed my message to "Sorry, didn't see you called missing." And there was no flame from anyone.

I have to strongly disagree. Removing the tool does not help players to use it properly or to improve their play.

I agree with this 100%

Bingo, I find the games I enjoy/win the most are when everyone is silent in all chat and the only thing that's used to communicate is smart pings, and the occasional "ward X plz" shout out.

There are good players hidden in bronze. I haven't played in that bracket, but I have had a Bronze or two squeeze into Silver while duo queueing, and they did as well as the rest.

I DO think something should change about missing pings. I think the yellow question mark should stay for a lot longer on the minimap where it was pinged. It can simply be translucent so it doesn't interfere with other icons on the map, and/or when pinged again in the exact same spot it disappears. Several times I've missed the ping, or heard it but was simply too preoccupied to check what ping and where.

Since I realize this can happen to anyone, I always double ping MIA, or even triple ping if there is more danger, like a highly mobile person missing (who may be in position to gank another lane in seconds) or I didn't ping as soon as they left.

Oh, its not just the pings, I played a game last night where I banked all three lanes about 3 times each, with zero follow-up, before the enemy jungled ever showed his face. As soon as he did, though, everyone was whining that I never banked and they were camped. #bronzelife
