Funny how Riot wants us to play with our friends, but my friends have all quit League since Season 6

Season 6 has been so abyssal in terms of balance and changes. Dynamic queue is a joke, and I actually enjoyed duo queueing and doing the 5 on 5 ranked with my College buddies. If we were all on at the same time, then awesome! We got to enjoy some ranked 5 on 5s. If only a few of us were on, we would take turns duo queuing with eachother and talk about our games and laugh about some of them afterwards. The rare experience of doing the 5 on 5 ranked made it that much more fun, instead of a constant grind fest of doing dynamic queue over and over and over again.

Now all those College friends have gone to Counter-Strike, Smite, DoTA , WoW or other games. Stuff like tank Ekko and Fiora, cancer mids like Fizz with broken masteries and Zed with duskblade are not so much impossible to win against, it's just annoying and feels underwhelming when you do. Having to go into a Dynamic queue hoping to show your strengths to instead be matched with 4 idiots on skype that just goof around and throw the game because "we don't care rofl" is just too much.

My last reason, and as lame as this sounds, is my girlfriend actually enjoyed watching me play because she does like League, but just has no mechanical ability to play the game herself (she prefers RPGS and Puzzle games). Now when she asks if I am going to play, I honestly have to think about whether or not I want too. Is it worth queuing up and encountering the following....

  • Toxic team mates with horrible bans.
  • Completely off meta picks due to trolling.
  • Going against that Tank Ekko top or any other imbalanced champ.
  • Getting that mid pick first and getting counter picked. It just sucks.
  • Having that 4 man pre-made of idiots that throw the game and all report you.
  • Going against that 3-5 man premade of diamond smurfs.

Nah, sorry sweetheart, think I'll play some Hearthstone or something.

You ran all my friends and my desire from playing this game Riot. We use to rush home and talk strategy in College about playing League; we were very passionate about the game. I wish I could say we all got burnt out or just don't game as much but that's not the case. My friends and me included are all playing different games, and although I still watch LCS weekly and it gets me amped to want to play.....before I click that ready button I have that nagging feeling of........ Why bother?

Haven't spent a single cent since they increased the RP price . Tired of their constant lying. Lyte saying that it'll be safe to leave games if a player doesnt connect, post made 1 year and half ago , nothing happened. My chat restrict ended and still can't earn hextech crap , boring and irritating. Further punished. 6 years old game and still lacks the most basic ways to deal with afk. Braindead game balance and so on and forth. Just download HoTs , trust me. its so much better. Tired of the same map, playing farmville for 30min while bot lane is feeding like shit and u have no chance against a cancer vayne soloing ur whole team. And the upcoming AP rework , RIP mage class. Apparently riot hates zhonya

P.s Their "riot pls" is just some bullshit excuse , solving nothing. _ A COMPANY that LIES TO THEIR PLAYERBASE_... hope you get bankrupt riot

I have 4 friends that have quit irl, and 2 that only play bot matches now... And dynamic queue has paired me up with more unfavorable non-sense than ever.. So many matches with afks, and so many with feeders... Before this season i was silver, consistently. now i see afks more then ever before and alot of bronze players that don't care about winning. ranked is about winning, not giving up because top fed someone and that someone is clearly op.... even if they are "op," they aren't that op you just fed 'em. Dynamic Queue is trash, the pre-season update was more terrible than the juggernaut update. To be frank this season is trash... People keep trying to say "adcs aren't broken, if they were why didn't this team win" when there are 5 adcs in a game that is proof in and of itself. Bronze is more of a mixed bag of tricks than it ever was before. And i don't feel like riot is listening (and if they "are," they aren't actually.)

Yea, I remember back in Season 3 when the game was awesome.. Season 4 was definitely interesting. But after that, I feel like the game has just gone downhill. Most of my friends don't play anymore since all the crazy changes. Riot seems to have "lost the way."

At least your friends lasted till Season 6. Most of mine quit with season 5, and the last 2 hold outs quit during preseason and haven't even logged in since.

Well, I am not on the side of DQ or SQ, and personally I don't care either way. But I just want to say something. Although this is a season that seems it has been worse, it has been the same as other seasons...

toxic team mates have always been a thing

off meta picks does not mean it is trolling

before we had things like feral flare udyr, sejuani, and other nightmares of op champs.

you could always get counter picked

and 4 man premades didnt, exist so I wont say anything about that

I used to run a coaching club and all of my students quit league since season 6 hence "used to". RIP

Oh i can relate to this.

I use to play way more often with friends and fam. Now we barely play together.

It is a bit sad. I might have to further reduce my time on LoL to play games with friends and fam.

I miss binging LoL w/ em XD.

On the girlfriend part, it reminded me of the time i was playing with some chick i dated, she went to play DOTA2 back in S5 and we shortly broke up afterwards XD (this was obviously not the reason).

She tried getting back into LoL, but actually if we do play together, it is actually an MMO or RTS.

you talk about toxic players, so I looked at your match history.

you are a mid/top yet you do almost no total damage in your matches, even when you do win you come in 3rd or 4th on total damage, sometimes lower.

then there are matches like this I found.

I don't really see any issue that wasn't there before in other seasons

unbalanced champs? happens to some champ every season.

don't like going against a premade? now that is new I admit, but most times I have noticed, if you are against a premade, that means you have a premade on your team as well. I Almost never go against a premade when my team has none.

people throwing? happens every season.

Same thing happened to me. Used to play league with my cousin every night.

Since Preseason he's basically quit playing.

Yea any friends I had that still played the game and enjoyed grinding ranked have quit. Now that I am back to the rank I was at the end of season 5 I have no real desire to try climbing any further. Just too much bs to worry about in ranked at this time.

All my IRL friends have moved to EUW, but I can't follow as, amongst other things, all accrued honor will be lost. And given how the current honor seemingly is not being reported, that's some 1700 honors I'll never see again if I do pick up and leave.

Your friends all started playing league of losers in season 5 so nobody gives a shit. Pretty sure there are still tens of millions of other players playing league of losers anyway, so even if I'm wrong, still nobody gives a shit.

They should've kept ranked 5's and made dynamic que max 3 people

I agree, except with maybe Fizz. Fizz isn't that great right now. He's just annoying to play against. Not broken. Not sure how an Amumu/Veigar main can talk though.

I've only had this happen to me once ever since Dynamic que has been released. I usually play solo and besides that time I never experienced something like this. People like to exaggerate/get excuses for why they're stuck in their elo and can't win. Before it was because elo hell lel can't carry. Now it's "4mans troll lel can't carry."

Mute and Report buttons exist for a reason. The fact that you say "horrible bans" makes me believe you are prob toxic yourself

Rarely happens, even in your elo. I have a couple of hundred games in your elo on smurfs and rarely encounter troll picks. Off meta picks aren't bad

Counterpicks are part of the game, but they are not impossible to beat. Learn how to play against them or ask your teammates if they could pick for you.

Rarely happens. Most 4 man premade games you don't even realize they are 4maning tbh. You only remember the ones that troll which is why it seems like all 4 mans troll

Same thing as 4 mans, this barely ever happens. 5 mans get matched with other 5 mans 9 times out of ten. Just because you get shit on doesnt mean the other team is smurfing. Again, more excuses to why you can't climb.

over watch is soon, myself and a few friends are just waiting for that, league isn't for the people who made the company what is is today, its for the new players I don't know anyone who's been playing pre season 3/4 that enjoys it now, and from what i understand we aren't just burned out, the game just isn't fun, this constant forced team death ball roaming play style still is just boring, don't get me started on the wild west builds where anything goes on any champion.

A big issue with dynamic que is that 4 people can que up together, and unlike duo que which only allowed for 2, dynamic que allows a premade to control the surrender vote.
