Support Idea: Make SS a once-per-team trinket buy

As title.

Opens up build diversity instantly by allowing that 800g to go to otherwise neglected buys in addition to an entire slot. Also if you have Jungle Lee Sin and he wants to ward hop, he can ward while he is at it.

Support gets flak when not rushing SS but ADC doesn't from not rushing BF sword.
You want more people to want to play support? 800g-->better items-->more impact-->doesn't unbalance every other lane

P.S. Rename support to lane support, otherwise as long as you are "supporting" a win who cares if you stay in lane or not. (Roaming used to be a thing).

I myself even when I jungle try to buy a what was a pink, I guess they are called controls now, but whatever no matter what lane I play if I have the money I will buy one to put in a bush in the dragon side of river. I feel that all people do a similar thing but may not do it with controls.

Unfortunately brosef supports buying SS/being ward bots is just the way it is. It makes sense financially to buy it early as every ward purchased is gold lost. It takes a special person to REALLY main support, someone who can look past those flashy numbers at the end of the game and know it was the vision/clutch shielding or healing etc that helped win the day because your teammates sure as hell won't.

there's a difference between 40 ad and a tonne of vision, you're comparing apples to oranges. it's more akin to the adc not taking heal for how you're pretty much expected to have it.

Hey guys just to clarify, the smaller point of a change like this would be to free up a bit of gold and a slot, but the big point is to remove the salt from the rest of the team.

After that Riot news post asking how to make support more ideal I figured it would be nice if having Sightstone was not tied to an item slot, this way the support does not get yelled at for not rushing it since it would be a time-gated GUARANTEE instead of a gold expense dependent on lane conditions.

ADC happy from wards. Support happy from build diversity.

No more "n00b support no SS at 5 min GG"(/s)
