The problem with off-meta picks and Singed Support:

...in Normals.

When you play Ranked, you are competing for chance to get to Challenger, get noticed for your decision making, mechanics, CHAMPION CHOICES AND MASTERY and ultimately make it to 'the show', aka LCS. There is NO other reason to play Ranked other than taking the game seriously enough to want to be a professional. Normal play and Custom games are where you can "play for fun" and "play casually". The fact that you are not aiding your teammates in winning the game is negative behaviour. Your champion select picks should be based off 3 things in Ranked:

  1. The bans that came through.
  2. The enemy team's selection.
  3. Your team's composition.

If you refuse to pick your champion according to these guidelines in Ranked then you should be removed from the Ranked ladder and forced to play Normals, where you belong. The counter argument I anticipate here is "No, you should be playing your best champion!" -- No. Sorry. You should not be playing Ranked if you are not comfortable enough on a range of champions to meet these three requirements above.

Please, play Singed Support, but do it in Normals or when it fits for the 3 above mentioned requirements.

Props to Riot for addressing this issue. I do not think banning the player is the right course of action, however, Ranked restriction definitely is.

I would rather have a teammate pick a champion that gets countered by the enemy but they are comfortable with than to pick a champion that counters the enemy but have no experience whatsoever.

Just because it's normals doesn't mean you get no punishment for purposely loosing the game. Off meta =/= Not viable. Like no matter how hard you play AP Garen, you're going to get reported most of the time.

That's what ranked is meant to emulate and train you for. You should be prepared to beat the opposing team with the blatant strategies in place during champ select, which you can see in pro play, can make or break a game.

Why is this such a hard concept for this community to grasp?

If you want to play Beer-League of Legends, do it in Normals or Custom Games.

how is singed supp trolling ? ive had singed supp before and it was pretty good cause of the slow but hey what eves. i remeber when i was runnign naut supp like in season 4 people called me troll but ohh man all of a sudden it isnt. i do j4 supp becuase it works out pretty well
