Stop saying "gg" or "ff" 5 minutes into the game (especially in ranked)

I just lost a ranked game, which could have been easily won, because my cho'gath mid was upset we had a sona top. Three minutes into the game, he types "gg" because our sona got first blooded.

At that time I thought, OK he's just annoyed we have a sona top.

And then it went downhill from there.

Anytime the sona died, the cho would go off on how we lost the game, how we have to ff, blah blah. I told him we can still win the game -- our bot lane (vayne and i, janna) was winning and way ahead, cho gath himself was fed and winning his mid lane against veigar, no one on their team was really that ahead.

After 15 minutes cho started a surrender vote, we all said no. And that pissed him off. So he went and hard-pushed top. At first that seemed like a good idea, since sona lost top lane...

And then we realized that he was purposely only going top, not warding, not helping out the team, just so we could lose. We literally had an open nexus, the entire enemy team is in our base, and he is still top. We begged him kindly to come help. I told him we're going to lose if he doesn't help. His response? "That's the point."

My point with this anecdote is the fact that it's not only rampant insults and flaming that plays into the toxicity of this community, but players who grieve and give up early on, thus ruining the game for four other people. Did I already tell you that was a ranked match already? The Cho was fed, he was winning his lane hard, he could've easily carried the game, but instead he ruined the game for us just because he was pissed over a non-meta pick.

DONT PLAY RANKED IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE NEGATIVE AND THROW/RUIN THE GAME FOR EVERYONE!!!!

Depends on who they are feeding. If it's Jinx, it's 90% going to be a loss because an item fed Jinx is almost untouchable. If your mid has 3/0'd a Diana, the game is probably 85% over.

You need to realize that while many games ARE salvageable, some exchanges are statistically not. And players who do not respect those matchups... generally do not understand this.

In either scenario..... I do not quit. I play all in. Just because I will never be accused of giving up.

But even then.... yeah. I know when a game is GG 5 minutes in.

I gotta say though, A+ response lmao.

This is why you don't talk to them. They're mad and they're on their internet persona. If you tell them something opposite to what they believe it's just gonna fuel their flame.

The best thing to do is just leave flamers be. This is where teamwork really comes in, cuz all 4 of you need to say absolutely nothing while he just listens to himself complaining. 9 times out of 10, he'll just stop (besides little quips here and there whenever someone dies).

Nothing makes people stop yelling like not having an audience to yell to.

But can I say it if I have 3 guys with 0/5 and item 3117 each at 5 minutes?

That's more like people being literal sheep than giving up easily.

It depends on the team comp. I'm personally leaning towards FF. You had a cho that didn't want to play and they had a hypercarry. You can't force someone to play in the same sense they can't force you to FF. I looked up your match and that game they out comped you. Sona already made it a 4v5, Jax countered Xin, Ali negates your engages, and veigar deletes your ADC. What you did was held the game hostage since I don't think you had much chance even with Cho helping out.

Edit: Looking at the graph https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2845951564/228631672?tab=overview

Blue team (enemy) had the gold advantage 99% of the time since 2:00.
