This is the most toxic season and it's barely been a month

Now, I'm not great at this game. I'm not here to talk about my "trash" teammates.

I'm here to talk about how god damn toxic everyone is this season compared to the previous seasons. I don't know what it is, maybe it's the new young audience we have, maybe it's the lack of balance in this game, whatever it is, I have never seen this copious amount of toxicity in every.damn.ranked.game.

Even when my team is winning, someone is being toxic, flaming teammates for no good reason at all. And let's not talk about when we're losing. This s*** brings the worst out of some people. I can't have a bad game or make a misstep without being flamed. Nearly every ranked game I've played so far this season, someone on my team (or even the enemy team) was flaming everyone left and right. What is wrong with some of y'all?

Anyways, I want to know what you guys think -- is this game more toxic this season than any season before? Why or why not?

I think it is a mix of a few things. As for purely game-things, a mix of the awful positional rank system which gives an incentive to troll and the horribleness of the meta and the problem with high-mobility, high-damage metas.

Cuz rito games bans the people defending themselves rather then the toxic pieces of jerky that hate on other people. Like me. The only time i am ever any sort of toxic is when i tell people to shut up and leave me alone or explain that int means intentional and not just feeding. But no i got banned and not the people saying "you suck" and "report __ for inting"

i had a guy in a freakin aram yell at me for "not playing the game" even tho i did 2nd most dmg in the game. how is that not playing? so what if i sat in the bush most of the time, i was still pumping out tons of damage. i was full ap maokai with complete bush control. they were all mine.

people get offended by the way others play the game. no fun allowed, just build the same items everyone and their mothers build. i feel sorry for them. so fragile indeed.

I've been here since Season 1, and here's a simple way to think about it - it is what you make it. Don't let the jerks disrupt your entertainment.

The first month of every season gets bad due to freaking out over placements.

I don't know if people are are throwing off-postion games due to positional rank, but people have been throwing off-position games for years. They most like would be doing regardless of positional ranks. They are just claiming it as an excuse for something they would have done anyway.

I don't really see the concern if players are more toxic. Just mute/ignore them, its always been the solution.

I agree that toxicity is a real problem in this game, but I have not noticed significantly more toxicity this season.

Games are shorter, dmg spikes are through the roof and snowball quickly (mages walking around 2 shoting everything). Game was never been in a worse state (even compared to the last season). Combine that with the start of the season. you have a perfect storm of events...

People have lost faith/trust in Riot's punishment system as a whole. I see players talk as they like even if it will get them banned. I see constant afking, fighting, inting. Positivity is usually a waste of time-- No one respects your advice -- Even if you say it with respect, kindness, etc.

Also it only takes one bad game to lose all your "goodies". Even as a player who gets honors damn near every game and generally has a good attitude, I've been punished for ridiculously benign shit. I'm not the only one by far who feels this way or has experienced this.

Matchmaking is worse, but I feel if this was Season 5 you'd still have smurfs attempting to give advice or encourage people. Not all the time, but it existed lol Now its just a hodge podge of skill with no respect.

So matchmaking needs fixing, chat problems need to be put back in player hands, and player performance needs to be scrutinized by Riot.

THEN MAYBE WE CAN FOCUS ON DAMAGE AND BALANCE XD

I get that, people have a bad game and then proceed to try to blame others. I had a game where my ADC and his supp were cursing at me that I was feeding the enemy JG, I was 3 and 0 at the time. People are stupid, all we can do is just play the game and try to ignore the jerks.

its the balance state of the game.

sure people always say "oh yeah when the kids have no school its toxic" which many ppl i know disagree.

some say its the young people in general but again no. i feel like its the "older" ones that are way more toxic.

also its a season start. most ppl are prob mad that they still arent challenger and that their "iron mates keep them stuck in iron" or something

Even worse, is when they report you for playing bad. Then Riot finds two things you say that might have been "Toxic" and you get slammed with the a 2 week ban. While the 4-man of toxic trolls are running around rampent, im stuck to playing on my pbe account for 2 weeks... item 3070

it's the start of the season effect. Literally the same every season to be honest. Guess you just fortunate to not have experienced it yet.... but I have experienced it almost every season. Just have to accept it.

Same feeling here in Eu but we do not have the new ranking system yet so it must be another reason.

But the games sure as hell feel more toxic than before, i simply did not have the opportunity yet to have a game going just fine without problem. I lost patience so many times already that i am currently in LPQ since i dont want to waste any more time on a game with trolls, feeders and flamers i just quit and go play another game. Do not care if i have to wait 20 minuts for the next game or not and i think thats the main problem here.

How do you respect laws if there is no punishement in case of disrespect ?

I mean League of legends right now regarding toxicity is comparable to a country that would say "do not steal from the supermarket" but has never punished anyone for doing it so now nobody respect the laws since there are no punishement in case of disrespect.

Dont say a ban or even permaban is a punishment since you just have to go create a new account and that's pretty much it.

The, only time, sadly has become more reasoned, toxic is when I have an actual bad Jungler or ADC. They talk so much shit about how unimportant they are, but they are, literally, capable of making Top and Mid useless.

As a Mid lane player, I have grown tired of Junglers and ADCs. Its like we have become the second support for those people. Their importance is so fucking high. If I get fed, it will not matter, if my bot lane or Jungler feeds its GG for me. Like, this shit that ADCs and Junglers say about how being an ADC or Jungler is hell is a fucking lie. Mid lane is fucking hell because you rely on your ADC or Jungler to be good, which, not too generalize, most are not. I am a Mid lane main, and I know how to Jungle path better than most of my junglers. I can generally tell if my jungler is a smurf. Not only do they clear faster, but they also counter gank, they counter jungle without fail, they gank, they get objectives, ward, and they do not say stupid shit like, "I take it slow."

ADC mains are just, yeah, ADC mains. Huge crybabies who think right-clicking is hard, and that they should be doing more damage than a skill dependent ADC like Quinn, who do right-click but need to combo for the damage.

Anyway, that is my opinion. GL HF

Personally I am a pretty casual gamer, so I find myself more compelled to play normal then ranked. Even in normals sometimes you just have really toxic people, and from my few experiences playing rgm, the toxicity is x10.

For someone like me that really just is not in the mood to deal with people calling you obscene things just for having a bad game, or for being outplayed by the enemy laner, ranked is something that just hasn’t appealed to me.

I agree Elon. I have been playing since late 2011... So I have seen toxic seasons I thought 2013-2014 was bad this season and late 2018... but this the worst so far. I made a post several years ago about how the ban system was joke and needed to be re-done or reformed because i got banned for calling a toxic homophobic troll who was harassing our whole team stupid for his comments and i got banned.... Smh. And after i posted said post a riot employee (claimed to be a riot employee) called me and several others who agreed liars and berated us until he deleted his comments to save face. I call clients or customers at the company work for liars and then berate them... I'd get fired just saying. Riot lets their employees be toxic to its customers and it trickles down to its players in the community over the years through lack of effort and maintaining positive gaming experience #thanksriot. And they wonder why their numbers have gone down... maybe I found your answer Riot! Thank You Elon you're not the only one.
