Ranked Gameplay is not what it once use to be
Title
To start off this is not a Bring Back Solo Que thread.
Ok so Ranked is Fucked to put things in a nutshell.
Why is it fucked? Well there are several over-glaring issues that Riot has failed to address when they brought in Dynamic Que and Role Selector, the main issue being MMR Abusing which took Riot Games about 10 patches to address.
How is MMR abuse still relevant? Just because it was fixed for higher elo doesn't mean the same issue they were experiencing trickles down the MMR ladder. What I mean by this is that in patch 6.10 Dynamic Que was adjusted for higher elo's to where they can only match with others who are 3 tiers above or below them, If we take into account that the lower brackets (Bronze/Silver/Gold) are a mirror image of higher elo where: Bronze = Plat, Silver = Diamond, Gold = Masters/Challenger then you can imagine that the same issue that ran rampant in high elo is now occurring in lower elo and Riot doesn't seem to give a care in the world.
Now what are the other Issue's that Plague the Ranked Ladder? Glad you asked, with the introduction of Dynamic Que and Role selector simultaneously, Riot Games should have reworked how MMR was earned and lost. Rather than taking the overall MMR of a team and use a baseline to determine how much MMR was gained or lost depending on how the scale is weighed, Riot should have reworked their formula to take into account how ahead or behind each player is in their role for their champ based on an average of data collected for each Elo over the course of the Last 5 Seasons, this would have solved the issue of "My Elo keeps dropping because of Bad Teammates" rants that are so common, a new revised MMR formula would place all gain or loss of MMR solely on the player and their ability to play the game.
How Does the Role Selector play a part in all of this? Role selector as a que mechanic only works for a select few groups of players in Ranked rather than the whole, think of Role Selector as a Filter, rather than placing you with teammates who play on the same Skill level as you Role selector removes the need to improve by giving you your desired role most of the time (if not always for some specific roles). This is detrimental to the player base where in previous seasons you would have to adapt to how the team organized in Champion Selection. The difference between Role Selector and Solo/Duo Que was that you needed to adapt to the situation in order to prevail and gain elo, whereas with Role selector there is no need to adapt to different scenario's because Players can always get the role the desire, regardless if they need to improve in other area's of the game where they may be lacking (Playing a multitude of roles help with many skills from: CSing to Map Awareness to Objective Control, Picking fights and Teamfighting is also a huge Skill that was promoted with old Solo/Duo que).
Now I've had my two cents on Dynamic Que and the Role Selector, I know most people don't give a shit about others opinions and Hell even if a Rioter takes a look at my profile and notices I'm Silver 4 (despite reaching Gold in season 4 and 5) they would toss it aside as if my opinion doesn't matter (For that fact they don't notice anyone's opinion about gameplay/balance if a player is under Plat II in Ranked Gameplay).
So now the Fun Part I invite any Rioter who has the guts into this thread and I want to know: Why weren't appropriate measures taken when Ranked Gameplay was changed? Why does it feel like Ranked no longer promotes player growth, but rather it now drives away herds of Veteran Players.
I am just like any of you here on the Boards, I Want Answers. Not from the player base, no, but from the Rioters who are behind these changes and the ones who partook in the changes.
