Please, please let Akali proc her passive on large or epic monsters.

Maybe we don't want Junglekali to be a thing, so not allowing her to proc her passive on large monsters is one thing... but why, why can't Akali proc her passive on Dragon and Baron? She is LITERALLY useless at taking objectives because of this design choice. Spamming Q on them makes it to where she has no way to recover energy, and it also means she'll be unable to contest them if a fight breaks out because of her lack of energy.

As far as I'm aware, Akali is the only energy champion that has this issue. If I'm mistaken, correct me, but it honestly is the worst when I can only really stand around as my team does Baron or Dragon because I have nothing to offer to them in terms of damage.

to be honest, old akali had this potential to jungle quite well, and overall she could take camps during the game quite easily. this is one her kit's aspect that has been removed, and I believe giving her this back would help her in a non toxic way (she would still be bad-average at taking camps given how high are her energy costs), but at least she'd be able to do it.

So I'm all for giving making her able to proc it on large monsters as well.

Old Akali wasn't a good jungler in any point in time, since she struggled to farm in the early levels and her ganks were weak until 6 (so a worse Diana).

New Akali, while not being able to jungle, she can still quite easily clear both Raptor and Wolf camps if she gets her traditional Gunblade.

Now getting back to the topic, I believe Riot avoided any non-champion mark interaction because it could be abused to get a surprise Passive attack on champions. Imagine an Akali waiting at Blue buff bush ready to kill you with her passive ready and maybe a item 3100.

However, I think a change to include Epic Monsters in her Passive would be good. After all, these objectives should be warded and Akali wouldn't surprise anyone with her Mark.

I am not saying Akali was a top tier jungle.. but she was at least able to farm with a decent speed, and without losing too much hp. And it was, overall, much easier for her to farm jungle ... now you indeed can farm wolves and raptors, if you have gunblade - which you get quite late in the game... getting blue buff has become such a pain, etc.

It doesn't feel too bad about the "surprise attack", her passive proc doesn't last for so long anyway... I believe it wouldn't be too overbearing. (for the record, Old Akali could do the same by autoing once to get her damaging attack ... somehow the same, and it has not been a problem imho).

Still agreed on the proposed change. :)

Imo, old Akali would have used the damaging attack anyway. I'm talking about a full-rotation here and if new Akali started with a Mark attack in a combo she would murder people.

And new one's passive is way better: 39 − 180 (based on level) (+ 90% bonus AD) (+ 70% AP) vs old: 10 − 100 (based on level) (+ 50% bonus AD) (+ 75% AP) (considering again that she gets Gunblade). It lasts for 4 seconds, which is the same as old Passive at level 17.

Maybe they should make her Q deal increased Damage vs Monsters earlier into the game (and also increase it)? It is weird that Akali needs level 9 to have decent damage vs monsters and even that isn't spectacular. The only argument against the change would be that she would farmsteal raptors to get Gunblade faster, so I'm not exactly sure if it's bad or good.

I kinda wished there was more Jungle support. She would have been interesting with her current kit.

Akali is SO HOT4 votes

Old Akali could jungle just fine. She had enough sustain for good clears and her E was amazing for taking camps. Her Q could mark monsters so she could do a bunch of damage to them through auto attacks and still have enough energy to use E and more Qs.

Riot decided to make new Akali ass at killing every jungle monster because they were afraid that she would end up being a super good jungler like Camille did. Nowhere did they ever say they were concerned that she could hide in a bush and hope somebody walked by within the 4 second time frame of her passive.

I don't deny her ability to clear (it was decent), I disagree with the idea of her being a good jungler. Her ganks Pre-6 are simply weak and only after 6 she can do something. Diana from many points of view outshined Akali in the jungle and even she is generally considered weak.

My perspective is that Riot kinda wanted to put her old Mark in the new one. Old Akali was balanced because her Mark was applied by her Q on one specific target, while the new one simply buffs her next basic attack. I can see the comparison between her and Camille, but even for that reason she is way too weak for a jungler to be even considered decent.

I still don't know why people think this Reworked Akali is more balanced than pre or post 6.22 Akali.

Because we can actually fight against her post-6.

I distinctly remember winning more post 6 with reworked Akali until they gutted her at 9.3 than ANY iteration of Akali. So your conclusion is false.

And I remember winning more against reworked Akali even before they gutted her at 9.3 than any iteration of past Akali. So, if we're literally only taking a single person's perspective this, your conclusion is false. That's not how it works though, neither of our single handed experiences negate each others. You may be good as Akali, but I can still actively fight against you by appropriately playing against you.

Dodge her E, literally just walk away from Smoke Screen, stick close to her so she can't get her enhanced passive. Regardless of your opinion, there is literally more you can do against Akali now, then you could ever have done before, which is why people see her as healthier, not so much as 'balanced'. And I'll take that any day.

It is easier to walk away from pre-reworked Akali's shroud simply because it is fixed in a location and doesn't spread and attract to enemies. Her E isn't as important as people think it is. It is important against certain champions. If I'm against let's say Riven, Jax or Wukong. Than E is important. But if I'm against a champion like Vlad Than E is semi-useless in most situations, but still can win post 6 simply by ignite and weaving my skills as fast as possible, I.E: Spam Q and AA to kill him.

Yeah there is literally more you can do about Akali, but at the expense of her being the worst assassin possible. Her design is literally a failure for an assassin. Her kit revolves around a defensive ability as a fucking assassin. So if you say she is "healthier" then I'd say she is healthier as a bruiser, because most of the time you'd go a bruiser build since it is better than AP assassin.

Not to mention, that if you're using your Q to deal damage to dragon or baron, if a fight breaks out, now you're OOE and either have to wait a long time for it to regen, or waste your shroud early to get energy back.

Epic monsters sure, but idk about large monsters. That just screams “akali come take gromp and have a gold lead to snowball” to me.

Frosted Tips1 votes

One hundred percent think this. Keep her out of the jungle by just adding it to epic monsters. It would be a minor buff, but it would feel so much better.

i just dont understand why people are still crying about akali why does she need to be good at everything for people who play her to shut up about her jesus. the made good changes to her kit and with the heal on hre q gone its not a hard way around when dominaton tree offers 2 forms of life steal or sustain in that 1 tree alone based on guess what hitting a skill........... and 2 qs and then your shroud and it regens enough for a 3rd q and akali runs on energy so i mean its not like it takes forever for it to regen its pretty fast all things considered and shes not an objective champ like chogath or nunu shes an assasin..............

Frosted Tips2 votes

I mean Akali is a pitiful Midlaner currently and is only viable Top. So she is not good at everything. She also is just like Katarina where prior to her first item she is pretty terrible. (Kinda a Gunblade abuser problem Riot should probably look into) Back to the point, Akali is currently just above Ivern on taking objectives because her passive does not proc on atleast epic monsters. Like fine don't let it proc on camps, but it not being able to proc on epic monsters is just an unnecessary power reduction that she has.
