The only people NA have to blame for losing are themselves.

Let's face it. I live in America. I've been to Canada.

Getting competitive about video games gets you called a geek, nerd, or neckbeard IRL.

Hell, playing to win over here in normals or sometimes even ranked gets you called a 'tryhard'.

The culture over here is so completely toxic to anything e-sport related that NA will never have a chance against Korea, China, or anyone else with any sort of actual respect for the medium of entertainment.

I don't think saying they, the players, have themselves to blame makes the most sense though. It's the general attitude towards eSports in the U.S, etc. that makes it lose respect, but I don't think the actual players have the same attitude. The people who look down on eSports probably don't care whether we win or lose.

Not with that attitude ! It's been getting much better

Honestly, that's not our (the players) fault. It's the media. That's like saying that the reason why the US men's soccer team is bad because kids are encouraged not to play soccer (in favor of basketball/football), and that it's the national team's fault.

Although it might get better since the US won DOTA's version of Worlds.

the eu community is even more toxic... the only reason the finals are in germany because its middle eu. i lived in austria moved to germany... and i never saw so many ppl not even knowing who pewdiepie is or what esports is. i seriously feel like a cave man. 90% of teenagers know this: there is facebook twitter and instagram. and some weird page called google. oh and youtube is that page for music right?

thats ALL they know.

No It's about competitive scene

Na and eu generally can only skrim teams from their own region. Yet China, Tw, and Korea skrim with each other a lot. Same problem is with other wild card teams. They don't see the crazy pro gsmes until 1-2 events per year. They barely learn anything

Riot needs to let teams connect worldwide with other teams

eSports and video games are slowly becoming more accepted here in the United States/North America. Part of the problem is the culture, part of the problem is being unable to skrim against teams from other regions like MCHammer said. This is a situation where there are a lot of problems, and no easy solution to any of them. The situation is fixable, but it will take a lot of time and effort.
