Played thresh for the first time really that i understood how to play him. However, i started the recommended build, which recommends you build relic shield to start, and that doesn't proc when the lane unit is injured like every other champ, it only procs if you last hit the minion... was wondering if we might be able to change this, or if its like that for a certain reason?

Thresh is ranged and the execute is melee-only. The gold-share and heal occur whenever you kill a minion though any source of damage.
It is recommended because it provides durability for Thresh (who wants defensive stats).
I guess it's because Thresh is classified as a ranged champion?
its cause your e passive can let u last hit easily, but I think its globaly know that coin > shroud > kindlegem > cdr boots >sightstone is the best build 45% cdr in like 15 minutes <3
