Seriously, WHY does a Rune like Demolish even exist when turrets are in the state they're in currently?

60 second CD: Your next attack deals 375 + 20% of your Max HP to tower after being within 600 range of it for 4 seconds... um... w-where's the Ranged handicap? Riot you... you're going to do the 50% effectiveness for Ranged right? You're not gonna let it stay like this for months like all the other changes broken by Ranged champs and... oh no...

You're at least buffing Towers right? You must be... RIGHT?

These days someone seiging your T2, you're better off giving it up and fighting near base.

We've been doing some investigation into tower and minion tuning for pre-season, we're not sure if/what we're going to ship, but the demolish rune would definitely be tuned around whatever state turrets end up in. Anecdotally it feels like it's in a pretty decent spot right now. Pretty sure I've only ever seen it on tops and supports and not marksman in our playtests, though I'm certain it can be a viable strat that players opt into. The idea being that there's a lot more opportunity cost in the new runes than the old system means that a marksman should be giving up something substantial to go resolve over another secondary path.

TL;DR - we're looking at some stuff with turrets for pre-season, we might not ship anything, and I haven't seen a demolish abuse case yet internally.

They introduced the rune with good intent. Helps champs like Nautilus,Singed,Rumble. But pro players 100% will abuse this by having it on their adc :(

Actually you often destroy turret in less than 4 sec, making Demolish quite useless beside first turret rush.

Yeah, because ranged champions either have giant hp or don't allready shred towers, right?

Wait...So tanks could potentially do 1,000 damage to towers? We are literally giving rift herald to anyone with around 3k hp.

1,000 HP = 575 2,000 HP = 775 3,000 HP = 975 5,000 HP = 1,375

So basically pick Cho and a tank support and literally 2 shot towers.

I personally like to think that each "tower" is actually a minature white-castle, thus rito constantly making them easy to kill could symbolize their hatred of the first harold and kumar movie.

I've been thinking, let's say a 5 man runs demolish, can they essentially push bot and destroy the tower within 5 minutes? Probably less lol

Should scale higher with bonus health, and have less base damage (Implying this rune should even exist). This way, damage champs get no use out of it, while tanks like Naut Mao Mal etc do. Gives them a chance to knock turrets down if they win top lane, but doesn't help much with support tanks, because they don't get a ton of health of their first items

Towers killed my family, and for that, I can never forgive them. Towers are my sworn enemy and it is my mission to destroy them all. The only reason I don't destroy my own teams towers is because Riot won't let me. #fuckalltowers

I really dont think that this will be abused by ADCs. When an ADC can kill turrets late in 8 autos anyway, why take it?

20% of an ADCs HP isnt that much.

Especially when in the new rune system there are so many better options. In other trees.

IF ADCs DO INDEED abuse it, then i would 100% agree that halving for ranged is a good idea. (not melee only though, i dont like the thoughts of melee only runes) OR maybe making it 20 or 30% of BONUS health instead. So that on some carrys like Mages with RoA it would still be good. AND tanks cant early deal a bunch of turret damage with first puch up to turret.

I can however seeing this be a really good rune for splitting Yorick Illaoi Trundle which its probably meant for.

Because full tank champions actually have issues destroying them... unlike everyone else... and instead of buffing armor and making it so tanks have an armor/mr ratio against towers they'd rather just watch them burn.
