[Gameplay] Casting skills on Azir (Problems with QWER)

First up, Azir's Q. When used with multiple soldiers, the range of the soldiers' dashes will be extended so that the soldiers do not stand on top of each other. This actually makes fighting incredibly difficult at times because the soldiers will be overshot and not be in range to attack the intended target. Also, there's a small bug where his Q doesn't appear on cooldown.

Second, Azir's W. If it's cast beyond his W range, he should walk up before casting. I do not know how many times I've intended to cast into a bush for vision only to have him summon the soldier uselessly right in front of me. I think if I wanted to summon the soldier right next to myself, I'd be able to do that fine. Also, it's incredibly painful to attempt to summon a soldier under an enemy tower during a fight. Often, you end up using W on the enemy tower and then screwing yourself over. This seems harder to fix though.

Third, Azir's E. Holy crap. I feel like the casting instructions were reversed for his W and E. If you attempt to cast while your cursor is out of range, you simply do nothing. I don't even understand this implementation. When Azir only has one soldier, he's supposed to dash to it; why does it even matter where his cursor is? He should be able to cast regardless of where the mouse cursor is. To clarify, I summon a soldier right next to myself, and I cast E (smartcast) outside of my range circle. I simply don't move. This is a poor design choice especially when Azir players tend to cast Q outside the range indicator to get max distance and then wish to dash to the soldier with E, but the cursor position will not allow it.

Fourth, Azir's R. It's a great choice to make it show up behind you and then sweep forward, but it's so incredibly slow. This is really just a preference complaint though. Still, there's a bug on his R, like with the Q, where it does not show on cooldown sometimes. This is incredibly painful to deal with.

Thanks for reading!

^^^^ This, so much.

I think pressing E with one soldier up is supposed to let u dash automatically regardless of cursor location. It doesn't work that way unfortunately..

My biggest issue with him..makes escaping and any E combos extremely unreliable.

Also I think with 2 soldiers up he dashes to the closest one upon pressing E regardless of cursor. However this only seems to work a fraction of the time.

Hopefully most of these are addressed in the followup bug fixes in patch 4.19

If Azir would auto-dash to the closest sand soldier to the cursor: I would be so happy.

Great post, these are really painfull issues and make him feel more clunky than it has to be. Especially the W...

Finally a thread were fellow azir players feel my pain with E.

It's such a great tool for initiation and escape but OMG is it so unreliable. The skill combos are there; the skill functionality is not.

Also, The speed at which Q moves is SOoooooo slow. If I try to use a Q+E combo it's pointless. I can usually walk to the point faster than i'll travel there if I hitch a ride on the Q...assuming the E works. So many times I've launched Q and E in an attempt to knock someone up and if I'm lucky i'll hit them with the Q, very rarely do I catch them with the E follow up because they've moved on. Now i'm in their range, My Q and E are on CD and i'm down the benefit of getting in 1-3 hits.
