Azir, i just don't understand the logic

Original nerfs/buff in november Azir Conquering Sands (Q) Sand Soldier damage increased to 75/105/135/165/195 from 60/90/120/150/180 Arise (W) AP ratios decreased to .6 from .7 Shifting Sands (E) shield value increased to 80/120/160/200/240 from 60/100/140/180/220

reasoning

  • The goal of these changes is to buff Azir's early game and reduce his late game strength, theory being that Azir currently gets shut down too hard sometimes early, but is an absolute monster late game. Having a distinct power curve's no bad thing, we do feel it's currently a bit too extreme though, hence we're testing these changes to tweak it a bit.

Soooooo

General BASE ATTACK DAMAGE 49.704 ⇒ 52 Q - Conquering Sands BASE DAMAGE 75/105/135/165/195 magic damage ⇒ 65/85/105/125/145 magic damage W - Arise! SOLDIER STAB RANGE ~400 ⇒ ~325 (we're marking them as approximate values because they get very complicated) TOWER BOMB DAMAGE The tooltip values were incorrectly saying +0.6 ability power (it's actually 0.7). 90 + (15 x level) (0.7 ability power) ⇒ 50 + (10 x level) (0.4 ability power)

Can't be the only one confused by this flip flopping on a champion who's win rate really isn't that high, not saying he wasn't good, not saying he didn't deserve nerfs, just a big wtf when you look at it as a whole.

Riot contradicts itself ALL THE TIME when it comes to rationalizing buffs and nerfs.

You're better off ignoring that content in the patch notes.

Because people cried a ton. And his name isn't Lee Sin.

It is kind of a "mid point" between the original value, and the buff to his q, so it's still sort of a buff, I guess.

The range on his w strikes suck, but also didn't match the expected range well, so there's that; I feel they could have raised his power somewhere to cover this obviously hard nerf to him.

just what happens with alot of more complicated chamions, they seem underwhelming after release as most people didn't figure out yet how to correctly use them, and for azire there were some serious bugs aswell. Because of that the consence was that azir was to weak, and so he got buffs. Now the bugs are fixed and (atleast some)people figured out how to use him correctly, showing what a broken bitch he can be, and so he gets nerfed. prettymuch the same happend to yasuo and might happen to kallista.
