I have been playing LoL for over a year now and have really just started playing ranked games about 2 months ago. Today I finally got into Bronze 1 despite how difficult it can be with trolls and bad players and counters ect. My next game although was definitely a disappointment. As soon as laning started bot lane fed quickly till Caitlyn was at 5 kills before 10 minutes. In mid lane i ended up dying 3 times because I'm a careful player, but there was nothing anyone could do. The game ended at about 2 to 22 in kills. I talked to the other team afterwards in my confusion and found out most of them were in high level gold ranks. Remember I am a fresh Bronze 1 player and still don't have that great of map awareness yet let alone be able to beat someone almost 10 ranks above me. Is there something wrong with the matchmaking, was this just a glitch that we got paired up, or could these people possibly been hackers, or can this be changed by RIOT so Bronze 1 players don't get matched with Gold 3 players (to use me as an example). Please fix this because this was a blow to the head for me. item 3151 item 3070

Uhm what?

You were matched with bronze and silvers. You just aren't good enough yet.

Don't expect Bronze 1 to be like Bronze 5 in terms of skill.4

Note: The higher you climb, the more you are punished for mistakes.

I had to play against several Plat 5 players before and during my promo games for Gold V. In that case, I was matched with them due to my high MMR and their low MMR (pretty much everyone else in those games were Gold III or Gold II).

It can happen when your MMR differs significantly from the average for your rank. It is also possible that they were lying if you didn't confirm their ranks using a 3rd party site like op.gg or lolnexus.
