Rethinking Ranked Fives and Tuning Dynamic Queue

How do people feel about the emblem idea? Do you like it? Dislike it? Why/Why not?

I personally feel it's a little hollow, but I'm interested in what other people think.

It's a pointless band aid and the badges will most likely just be treated as badges of shame for people who got dynamic boosted.

This change has 0 bearing on why I would like to play ranked. here are my motivations to play ranked: a) it provides a tight skill (= elo rating, no other metrics apply) distribution within the game. b) it provides a high quality measuring metrics for skill (= elo rating, all other "display options" i.e. league system are inferior) c) i have friends who play ranked and they play with me

(a) and (b) are the "prizes" of ranked. these are what I "fight for": better team mates, better opponents, and the opportunity to constantly gauge my skill and muse it. (c) is a good reason to play ranked. also a good reason to not play ranked.

if you want me to play ranked more, improve (a) and (b). on a side note: "league system display" is a major downgrade from "elo rating display."

Ranked 5s fail because the entry barriers are too high. Maintaining a group of just 8 people who can all constantly play at the same time is difficult for "real people". Increasing team size to something like 20-30 people will have a major impact on success of the format.

ofc it wont me "my team" anymore, it would be "my clan". But that is a reasonable trade off.

@SOCRATES:

average queue times. test of small sample of games shows Graph is wrong. data is bad. how did you get these numbers (you idiots)?

small test shows top/support results in 2/8 split in role allocation. Needs to be 6/4. requires further adjustment. Chance to get primary position graph obviously not representative of top/support selection criteria. Therefore easy to see graph is wrong, data analysis is bad. nice numbers that show good results for unimportant cases like mid/top while not representative of **relevant ** cases like top/support.

middle/support improvement graph: yes i agree you've improved a lot here. going from 2/98 to 5/95 is a major improvement. HOWEVER the absolute number is simply not big enough number to be relevant. why are you even showing this graph? if you show absolute % to get role graph on these cases the graph will show you still fail. So you choosing this graph is what, a PR stunt? you showing this graph specifically is a case of "there are lies, damn lies, and statistics".

You should have added "-insulted" to the poll.
